Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park — Attraction in Nakhon Pathom Province

Well organized, modern and trimmed garden with several zones hosting herbs (also culinary ones), trees, brushes, vines etc. Very picturesque landscapes with a big lake in the middle, a few tall observation towers, some pergolas, tunnels, bridges and a boardwalk by the water. Many benches, golf-course-standard lawns and shady places to rest. Some soft drinks machines here and there. Plants are fragrant and beautiful, and the staff found a good balance between the educational and the spectacular. At the entrance you receive detailed maps, but the plants in beds match the schemes in the leaflets only to a certain degree. Also, there are English common names on paper, but Latin taxonomy and Thai names on tags next to plants, so if you're not a botanist (or don't speak Thai), you can never be actually sure what you see without help from the internet. Unfortunately, the entrance fee for foreigners is quite high: 250 bht (Thais afaik 50 bht). If you prefer to just stroll or ride around instead of watching plants, you can rent a bike for 20 bht. You should reserve about 3-4 hours for a visit (take some food and have a pique-nique on the grass), but you can also stay there for the whole day to read, ride, eat or walk. It was interesting if you are into medicinal plants. We took a school group, P3 year. I personally liked the painting session with water colours derived from flowers and plants. The tree tour was not that great. The museum was okay. Small but informative. It rained when our students were supposed to go around the herb garden. We went into the lecture hall and approximately six plants were discussed. Honestly, I was bored and I think most of our students were too. However, I think this location would be better with older students or students interested in botony. I think it was not the best choice for our trip, but it could be a great day out for others.
