Amazing Place to Visit
Accessibility (5 stars): It’s quite easy to reach, as you can drive a car or motorbike almost all the way to the waterfall.
Clothing: It’s advisable to bring a raincoat, as the weather can change quickly.
Tourism: Avoid visiting during the peak season, as it tends to be overcrowded and can take away from the natural beauty of the place.
Now for the interesting part:
Routes (5 stars): If you’re looking for adventure and love nature, skip the car and opt for a guided trek through the jungle. Guides charge between 200 to 2000 baht, depending on the route, and there are many paths to choose from. Just be mindful of your physical condition, as the hikes can be demanding.
Trekking through the woods can be quite challenging, especially during rain. These tours often take several hours and lead you through rivers, mud, and more. Be prepared to get dirty!
You can purchase sprays and protective clothing against leeches at the park shop. It’s highly recommended, especially if you’re inexperienced. The jungle is full of flies and leeches, but it’s also home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife and pristine nature.
Language (3 stars): Basic communication is possible, but if you want to engage more, it’s helpful to learn a few words in Thai.
Important Tip: Do not venture into the restricted areas of the forest without a guide. The terrain is vast and the mountains are large—it can be very dangerous if you get lost. Always stick to the designated paths and...

There is a fairly well travelled trail to the first of these (starts at the bottom of the steps), but the other one further down is best reached on the haew suwat-visitor centre trail (8km in length but the turn off to that level is only 2km or so along the trail) and you'd probably need a guide to find it.
I followed the river from the entrance checkpoint all the way up to haew suwat waterfall, took 5 hours, about 10km hopping from rock to rock and walking on the riverbanks, once or twice having to swim across deeper water. Beautiful river in January. I wouldn't try it in...
Read moreBeautiful waterfalls that should be experienced by anyone visiting the national park. While less spectacular than the much larger falls at Narok, the falls at Haew Su Wat allow visitors to go right up to the falls and explore the caves behind them. Visiting the falls requires a short walk over a well maintained path that is easy for most visitors to access, though does involve some steep stairs. Getting right up to the falls and exploring the caves behind them does require a short but more adventurous walk over boulders and through tougher terrain. However this was manageable for my 4 and 7 year old children in sneakers, so shouldn't be a problem for...
