Kiriwong Village – A Hidden Gem in Thailand
Kiriwong Village is a beautiful and peaceful destination in Nakhon Si Thammarat, known for its stunning natural scenery, fresh air, and traditional way of life. Surrounded by lush green mountains, it is often called the village with the purest air in Thailand.
One of the highlights of Kiriwong Village is its clear, flowing river, where locals and visitors can swim and relax. The iconic Kiriwong Bridge offers a fantastic view of the river and the surrounding mountains, making it a great spot for photos.
The village is also famous for its local handicrafts and fresh produce, especially fruits like mangosteen, which are grown in the area. There are small shops, markets, and street food stalls where you can try delicious southern Thai cuisine.
For those who love nature and adventure, there are plenty of hiking trails and waterfalls to explore nearby. Whether you want to relax by the river, explore the local culture, or enjoy the natural beauty, Kiriwong Village is a perfect getaway.

It is a beautiful area though, and clean (there are heavy fines for littering and CCTV). We enjoyed ourselves, but it was a noisy, busy kind of fun.
For a quiet time enjoying nature, you need to go to the further away national parks that have an entry fee. Best bet is during the week and not on a...
Read moreThe actual village itself is nothing special and accommodation is overpriced. But the waterfalls in the area are great and so are the trekking opportunities. The fruit farms stretching far up into the mountains are also great for hiking if you dont want to go into the actual jungle. It's very steep though.
There are songtaews here from nakhon si thammarat but they don't go from the main bus station, you have to wait on the main road (opposite side to the bus station) and they dont have english writing so you just have to flag them down and ask if they are going to kiriwong. Pretty sure all the kiriwong ones are dark blue, if that helps, but dark blue songtaews also go to lan saka.
If you want to get a songtaew from the origin point rather than flagging them down, I'm pretty sure they park on the road outside the...
