Doi Samer Dao — Attraction in Nan Province

If you're looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, with incredible sunrise and sunset views and a sky full of stars at night, Doi Samer Dao is a must-visit! It’s located inside Si Nan National Park in Nan Province, and it’s easy to reach by car. A short walk from the parking area takes you to the scenic viewpoint on top of the ridge.

This spot is perfect for camping. If you don’t have your own tent, you can rent one from the park (around 300–400 THB). There are bathrooms and charging stations available, but no food stalls—so bring your own or order in advance. The air is cool and comfortable at night, with no city lights to block the stars. A dream for stargazers!

Lovely campground with an exceptional view of both sunset and sunrise. It can get extremely crowded during the season. Since it's within a national park, there is a entry fee (100 baht per person and 30 baht per car). Food like noodles can be bought on ground, but most people tend to bring along a small stove with necessary provisions and cook their own meal. No electricity for the tents but there is a common spot where everyone charges their phones. Hot water is also available in the common area for drinking, but it's often empty with large crowds. Toilets and washrooms are neat and we'll maintained, but unfortunately no hot water. It can get very cold up in the mountains. Ample parking...

1.​ แนะนำติดป้ายประชาสัมพันธ์​จุดนี้ห้ามจอด​ อนุญาต​สำหรับรับ-ส่งผู้โดยสารและ​ขึ้น-ลง​สัมภาระเท่านั้น​ จะได้ไม่ต้องประกาศวนไปมาให้เจ็บคอ​ เพราะบ่อยครั้งได้ยินนักท่องเที่ยวบ่นว่า​ ไม่เห็น​มีป้ายห้าม

2.​ สำหรับนักเที่ยวที่ต้องการทานหมูกะทะ​บริเวณ​จุดกางเต๊นท์​ คุณ​จะต้องจ่าย​ 450 สำหรับอาหาร​ชุดเล็ก​ (ทาน​ 2​ คน)​ แบ่งเป็น​ 350 บาทค่าหมูกะทะ​ 100​ บาทค่าเคาพร้อมถ่าน​ (ไม่รวมไฟแช็ก)​ และเพิ่มอีก​ 30​ บาทสำหรับค่าเสื่อรวยประสบการณ์​ (บางอันก็มีรูจากการเผ่าไหม้​ของเตาหมูกะทะ)

บริเวณ​ลานที่จัดให้นั่ง​กิน​ เสมือนการเข้าค่ายของผู้ใหญ่​ อลหม่าน​ จับจองกันเอาเอง​ มีเขม่นไม่ชอบใจกันบ้าง​ เพราะไม่อยากให้คนอื่นมานั่งใกล้ตน​ แนะนำ​ จนท.​ จัดล็อคให้จะดีกว่า

4.​ จนท.​ แจ้งว่าห้ามประกอบอาหารหน้าเต็นท์​เช่าของอุทยาน แต่ก็ไม่มีการเดินตรวจแม้แต่เงา​ เราเดินกลีบเต็นท์​ก็​เห็น​มีปาร์ตี้​ปิ้งย่างกันไม่น้อยกว่า​ 2​ กลุ่มใหญ่

5.​ กรณี​ที่ทางอุทยานกำหนดช่วงเวลาไม่อนุญาต​ให้นำรถขึ้นบริเวณ​ลานชมดาว​ ควรทำป้ายติดพร้อมไม้กั้น​ ตั้งแต่ป้อมแรก​ นักท่องเที่ยวจะได้ไม่ทะลึ่งขับรถขึ้นไป​ เพราะสุดท้ายมันอันตรายสำหรับ​การกลับรถในที่ที่ก็ไม่กว้างนัก

ในเรื่องอาหารการกิน​สำหรับนักเที่ยวที่ไม่สะดวกหรือไม่พกพาอาหารไปทำกินเอง​ แนะนำเดินลงจากลานกาง​เต็นท์​ไปสักหน่อย​ มีร้านอาหาร​ให้เลือกทานเยอะแยะ​ ไม่ต้องเช่าเตา​ ไม่ต้องเช่าเสื่อ​ ชำระแค่ค่าอาหาร​ แล้วเดินย่อยกลับขึ้นลานกาง​เต็นท์​ (แต่อาจเมื่อยสักหน่อย​ แต่​ก็ไม่ได้​ไกลเลยจริงๆ)​

ห​้องน้ำบริเวณ​ลานชมดาวมี​ 2​ จุด​ ซึ่งปริมาณ​อาจไม่เพียงพอ​ (แยก​ ชาย​-หญิง)​ เรายอมเดินไกลหน่อย​ ไปเข้าห้องน้ำ-อาบน้ำ​ ตรงจุดใกล้ๆ​ ป้อมที่ชำระเงินค่าผ่านด่าน​ สะอาด​ มีหลายห้อง​ (อย่าลืมเปลี่ยนรองเท้าก่อนเข้าใช้บริการห้องน้ำด้วยนะ)
