Gateway to sin city. It's huge, loud, and at times, chaotic. Though not the best in Asia, it beats most in the west in terms of efficiency. This is most apparent when it comes to immigration - though it can still be painful for visitors (depending on time of day), the process is much simpler (at least the officers are respectful and not ask you questions like you are a criminal!) What I particularly like (1 = worst, 10 = best) 1) Layout - easy to navigate though airport is humongous. There are visible directional signage everywhere. 9/10; 2) Immigration (arrival) - as stated in the 1st paragraph. 8/10; 3) Customs - they don't bother you unless you really look like a criminal! 9/10; 4) Baggage handling - fast. Usually no more than 15min wait. 9/10; 5) Seating area - plentiful. Even though when it's super busy, it's not hard to find a place to sit and relax. 9/10; 6) Taxi/limo services - many to choose from. Most of the counters are located right outside of the arrival hall. 9/10; 7) Luggage wrapping service - located on various spots before the check in counters at the arrival hall. 9/10; 8) Food & beverages - spoiled for choice. From Thai, to Vietnamese. Italian to burgers. 10/10; 9) Shopping - again, spoiled for choice. Many are also open 24/7. 10/10; 10) Announcement - made in several languages. Very clear. 9/10. What I didn't like: 1) Interior design - dated and in need of an extensive refurbishment. 4/10; 2) Toilet facilities - cubicles are very small. It's a tight squeeze if you're a large built or carrying a luggage. There is also no bidet for proper cleaning. 1/10; 3) Other facilities - lacking. Especially if you're on a long transit, there isn't much else besides food and shopping to keep yourself occupied/entertained. There should ideally be sleeping pods, shower facilities, movie theater, children's play area, etc., especially considering their strive to become a regional transit hub. 4/10; 5) Immigration (departure) - too much red tape. Except your clothes, you literally have to take off/take out everything. They are thorough, going through all items, especially liquids (do note that they will throw it away even if it's 1ml over!) It's frustrating when there are long queues and they expect you to repack and go immediately. 1/10; 6) Boarding - disorganized. They should call by zones and board according to priority. Some planes are parked a distance from the terminal, so do expect to take the bus to get to your plane soaking wet or in sweltering heat (depending on weather). 3/10.
