Phanya Beach, Phuket: A Desi Paradise with a Caveat✨ Hey there, desi adventurers! We, a travelling couple, recently explored Phanya Beach in Phuket, and we want to share our honest perspective:

What We Liked:

Secluded Escape: Craving a quieter beach experience away from the tourist crowds? Phanya Beach offers a more relaxed and unspoiled atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. Natural Beauty: The beach itself boasts soft sand and clear turquoise waters, creating a picturesque scene. Local Flair: Experience the charm of a traditional Thai fishing village nestled near the beach. Serene Setting: The calm waves and shallow waters make it suitable for families with young children or those seeking a peaceful swim. A Few Things to Consider:

Limited Amenities: Compared to other beaches in Phuket, Phanya Beach has limited restaurants, shops, or sunbed rentals. Accessibility: Reaching the beach requires navigating a somewhat steep and potentially slippery path. Wear sturdy shoes. Limited Activities: Water sports options or organized activities might be scarce here. Rip Currents: Be aware of potential rip currents, especially during monsoon season. Always swim with caution and follow any posted safety warnings. Overall, Phanya Beach can be a charming and peaceful escape for desi travellers seeking a less crowded beach experience with a touch of local flavour. However, be prepared for limited amenities and prioritize safety when swimming.

Tips for Desi Travelers:

Pack essentials like towels, snacks, and drinks, as options might be limited at the beach. Wear sturdy shoes for navigating the path to the beach. Carry cash for any local vendors you might encounter. Research weather conditions and prioritize safety when swimming. We hope this review helps you plan your desi beach adventure in Phuket! It was our last stop on our island hopping tour and honestly wish we had gone home at that point (there was a storm rolling in). It was called “the party island” because of its various overpriced water activities and cocktails. What’s problematic was a woman was carrying around a slow loris (also called “bush baby”, an endangered species) for people to pet and take photo with. We learned in the Gibbon Rehabilitation project that these primates are illegally captured and traded. Gibbons and slow loris both have deadly canines that can really hurt human bad (a slow loris has a toxin which makes its bite especially bad, so their teeth are often stripped off when they are carried around for tourists) If people keep paying them for photo opportunities then the illegal...

Went to Panya Beach today as part of the James Bond jet boat tour. The beach is nice and management have made an effort to make it ‘up to date’ with photo opportunities. To sit on a beach chair you must pay a fee as well as order from the bar; considering that we’re paying for a service I believe that management should be responsible for having staff maintain the restrooms. There was no toilet paper in the female toilets, the cubicles were dirty and not pleasant at all. I do consider where we’re at and not to compare with home but I do have expectations that more than the bare minimum should be provided to satisfy the needs of customers. I purchased a fresh coconut and fries; the coconut was not cold - the...
