Patani Artspace — Attraction in Pattani Province

I’ve known about this place for a long time, especially as someone who cares about human rights and social issues in the deep south.

I arrived there around 6 pm. and the space is still open, luckily. The location is convenient, and the exhibition spaces are well-organized. I visited during their annual art festival, which featured some truly fascinating art pieces.

There was also an ongoing exhibition about the 20-year anniversary of the Takbai massacre. It was sad to see, but it’s a powerful reminder of why this place is so important and deserves support. Art is a vital tool of resistance, and the southern border provinces need spaces like this.

If you’re interested, I highly recommend visiting and supporting the place by purchasing their souvenirs, such as postcards, t-shirts, and books.

The Patani Artspace was a worthwhile visit! We were lucky enough to meet one of the artists who guided us through some of the exhibits. She mentioned the exhibits change throughout the year. The art was beautiful and, although I don't speak Thai or Melayu, was able to understand some of the universal issues through the art.
