Talo Kapo Beach — Attraction in Pattani Province

Talokkapor Beach - Pattani is a great beach for relaxation, barbeque, strolling, jogging, for having fun, beach sports and even for swimming. Recommended to visit this beach if you plan on visiting Pattani or south Thailand.

Great scenery with an expansive clean beach, different shades of the sea, occasional sea birds, cute cats, sheep loitering around and the sight of children and adults having fun on the beach makes this a welcoming place.

The shade from the coconut palm trees and pine trees coupled with the cool breeze from the sea and the gentle music from the waves crushing the shore is therapeutically soothing/relaxing and would make you want to take a good relaxing nap.

The beach does not have many foreign tourists, thus is relatively less known among foreign tourists, and is not crowded. Plenty of places to set up your tent, umbrella, or mat / towel to lay down.

Compared to major tourist attractions like Pattaya, this beach is generally kept clean with no visible man-made rubbish as locals and visitors do not litter and use the dustbins are provided. However, near the shoreline as in any beach you may encounter the occasional drifted wood, plastic bottles etc. These are also taken away regularly. Also regular sweeping is needed to get rid of animal droppings from the sheep and goats or these animals should be restricted from entering the beach area.

This beach is a great place for overnight camping and barbeque (you might need to bring your own barbeque grill) or improvise on one the beach.

A limited range of local vendors sell different type of delicious local Thai food. A visit to the beach is not complete without trying the food from the vendors. Look for spicy noodle with seafood, you will love it. If you are Muslim you will not have problem finding "Halaal" food here as almost all the vendors are Muslims. You also get limited vegetarian options.

Do keep an eye for the cheeky sheep and goats that loiter around the beach. They might grab your food while you are not paying attention. You may even wake up to a strange feeling of being watched, only to bump into a sheep staring at you. The cats have their own personality and do not disturb you at all.

Generally, non-alcoholic beverages are available and you can even get the infamous Thai Ice Tea. There is no ban on sale of alcoholic drink, it's just that there isn't a great demand for alcoholic drinks to create a supply in this area. You may bring your own or you may have to do a bit of walking or driving to find a vendor of alcoholic beverages.

The beach is a great place with ever friendly local hawkers/ peddlers vendors, however, the beach needs lot of improvement.

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT A lot of business opportunities for the locals are available on this beach through supplying many amenities and facilities needed at the beach. Soon enough this beach can be a bustling with good business.

The beach could be supplied with barbeque grills for public use or even for renting

More seating options such as beach chairs with umbrella, for free or for renting. Perhaps locals could start renting mats like it's done in so many tourist attractions across Thailand.

Need suppliers of sports items such as volley ball, football etc. The beach could use a designated beach volleyball court with a net.

Introducing sea sports, such as windsurf, jetski, banana rides etc. is a great idea

More food vendors with greater variety of food

Toilets are a major down points. Toilets are unclean and dimly lit. Super unclean and in desperate need of repair, maintenance and renovation. The existing 5 Bath fee is not worth the money at all even to take a piss.

Need to have a shower facility with shower heads instead of just a jug to pour water

No hotels or hostels nearby (as in within walking distance)

Designated lifeguards needed

Few places to sit down unless you want to sit on the sand or on a washed up...

The beach is rather dirty, wouldn't advise you to come over unless you know what activities you have planned ahead of time. There's no more banana boats here as tourism isn't high here like other places, however it's a nice place to chill where small time modern resorts are sprawling up...
