Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden — Attraction in Phra Pradaeng District

Management of Nakorn Khuean Khan Green Area for Ecotourism Center( official name under Royal Forest Department may be different) is the government sector to supervise and execute all personnel budgeted by Royal Forest Department and manage this area under named mentioned above( villagers’ land title is different matter). Totally of project areas are 11,819 rais(18.91sq.km., 1sq.km.=625 rais)which composed of 1. 547 plots totally 1,276 rais(2.04 sq.km., villagers sold to government for project management) 2. Others private sectors’ areas totally 9,000 rais (14.4sq.km.) 3. Public areas for ecotourism management under this project. The whole areas targeted to manage and develop as followed: 1.Conservation area( 25% of total areas, around 2,954.75 rais or 4.7 sq.km.) 1.1 educating villagers in the area 1.2 restoration and development targeted urban forest area in metropolitan area ( natural restoration and natives plant species planted) 1.3 cultural and ecotourism recreation (ecotourism bicycle area , trails, natural trails and archaeological tourism.) 1.4 local knowledge conservation ( owing to the native villagers is heterogeneous race) to learn and experience about art, culture and local knowledge. 2.Development area ( 25% of total areas, around 2,954.75 rais or 4.7 sq.km.) 2.1 community ‘s economics development (community’s market , floating market, land market, agriculture plantations, homestay, agricultural plants breeding) 2.2 agricultural plants development and conservation ( barracuda mango) 3.multi- utility ( 50% of total areas, around 5,909.50 rais or 9.45 sq.km.) 3.1 community forest 3.2 demonstration plots ( for education, research, experiments, ecotourism promotion, agricultural forest and organic farming demonstrations) 3.3 impoverished farmers area allocated aid 3.4 community activities area for people participation 3.5 to fulfill the purpose of government sectors, community organizations and local administrations organization (Public park). Nakorn Khuean Park and Botanical Garden is area under the government sector supervise as mentioned above, majority of this huge area is agricultural land in the center of urban civilization( metropolitan and surrounding area). Having been gathering of river sediments for very long time ago , this wetlands provide 3 water systems (fresh water,sea water and brackish water) resulting to diversified of flora and fauna. As the richness primary area , resulting to high potentialities both in agriculture ( barracuda mangoes and aromatic coconut)and diversity of social,culture and custom. With the potential of area, setting the goal on ecotourism promotion ( crowded with foreigners tourists during weekends) and villagers careers promotion ( food bank demonstrations plots, community forest,community market and poor farmers aid projects. Area of 547 plots 1,276 rais (2.04 sq.km.) expropriated land(villagers sold to government for project management), face the problems of erosion and riverside collapsed. Methodology of solving problems are as followed: Ecology: marginal plants and mangrove forest have to be done both in natural conservation and enrichment planting to prevent shore collapse and also erosion. Engineers: to construct breakwater or sea wall on the purpose of preventing impacts from sea water and immerse flood season. Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park And Botanical Garden is located in Phra Pradaeng.It is green park. it's just a few minutes in a boat from bangkok (klong toey pier) and cheap to get there.Can rent a cycle to get there and cycle around. this park is beautiful with a lot of plants and ponds. is the best part of Bang Krachao for my money. Large park, with loads of bike and hiking trails. Bikes are welcome! The park has lots of wetlands and old orchards, green areas, ponds and swamps. Keep your eyes peeled for birds and monitor lizards. Enjoyable place! Highly recommended. Peaceful place where you can cycle inside, enjoy the lush greens, fresh air and wildlife. Botanical Garden is a real green gem south of Bangkok where the Chao Phraya River forms a kind of peninsula. This park isn't damaged from the crowds and so it's great to relax from the busy city vibe. It's mainly popular with locals as tourist hardly make all the way from the city center. At entrance you'll find sufficient parking lots and some food stalls to buy some refreshments. It's also a great location for jogging or roller-skating. A place we like to enjoy...

Not far from anywhere in Bangkok this literal green osasis is a must see for locals and tourists alike. Cheap bicycle rentals afford you the opportunity to explore the grounds. Climb the stairs of the bird tower for a true bird's-eye view of the tree tops and the variety of birds. Or if you'd rather just stroll the grounds. Picnics are a natural here, although my family likes to go to one of the nearby Outdoor dinning restaurants with succulent grilled chicken, somtum and sticky rice. No matter what your choice it's a great getaway to this marvelous place.

Unfortunately, things are chaging. The rude old man at the gate is now the photography police. We never had an issue before but now he says we can only take pictures with our phones. And he didn't say it nicely, he was extremely rude to my family. I think the parks department needs to retire some if these people or at the least teach them about how to speak politely. I will think twice about going back there. Maybe if enough people get treated badly things...
