This floating market is a delightful gem that combines the charm of a traditional Thai market with a picturesque waterside setting, making it a must-visit in Hua Hin. I arrived around 10 AM, and the market was notably quiet, offering a serene and relaxed vibe—ideal for those who enjoy a calmer experience away from the usual tourist bustle.
Tourists should note the 200 Baht entrance fee, which includes a scenic boat ride. This ride is a highlight, allowing you to glide along the waterways and take in the market’s vibrant surroundings from a unique perspective. The market is thoughtfully designed, with a clean, well-organized layout that makes exploring a breeze. Adding to its appeal, the entire place is a photographer’s dream, with countless photospots at every turn. From colorful wooden bridges and rustic boats bobbing on the water to charming shopfronts adorned with traditional Thai decor, there’s no shortage of Instagram-worthy backdrops. The lush greenery and vibrant market stalls also make for stunning shots, especially during the golden morning light.
That said, when I visited, many shops were still closed, which slightly dampened the experience. However, the shops that were open offered an impressive array of goods, including clothing, accessories, and unique souvenirs, all at incredibly affordable prices compared to Bangkok. The deals here are unbeatable, making it a fantastic spot for budget-conscious shoppers looking for quality finds.
Overall, Hua Hin Samphannam Floating Market is absolutely worth a visit, especially for its photogenic charm and budget-friendly offerings. With endless photospots to capture the vibrant Thai culture and serene waterways, it’s a paradise for photography enthusiasts. To make the most of your visit, consider arriving later in the day when more shops are likely to be open. This market is a perfect blend of cultural immersion, scenic beauty, and great deals, making it a standout...
Read moreThis "floating market" is in such bad condition I would think it to be an embarrassment to the local tourist association. It's built around a small lake full of large fish , feeding the fish was the only thing of value to the complex. The entire structure is built of wood and is in danger of collapse , in fact a few of the spots are blocked off to access. While walking you spend a good part of the time looking at the walkway to keep from falling through. I would discourage parents from bringing small children , but if you must , keep a close eye on them because potential for injury is everywhere on the structure. I feel sorry for the goats and rabbits kept there in cages , I'm hoping they are removed in the evening and put somewhere more comfortable. The ticket man at the entry was totally unfriendly as I paid my 50 baht they charge farangs. The few vendors selling mainly tee shirts are friendly enough , but I don't see how they make any money. I can't be sure , but I'm guessing the only reason this firetrap is open for business is corruption somewhere along the business food chain. My opinion to others , unless you are curious to see damage beyond repair , don't waste your...
Read moreWe understand the pandemic situation but when the time comes gor reopening everything. We think they should have been better prepared to welcome the tourists.
We are in Huahin now and try to fine some interesting places to visit.
The hotel staff told us that this floating market had closed for a long while. But we just want to check. We called and they said they have reopened for a year. So we decided to visit.
The construction are broken. They need a repair. Not many shops left there. Nothing to be seen anymore. We used to come here in the past. There were many tasty snacks and food. Also many varieties of stuffs. But now, just a few food and 2 small coffee shops. Clothes shop are selling the same cheap T-shirt, shorts, sacs.
The coffee shop close to the entrance has a nice seat to sit. A singer with his keyboard is singing some old classic songs. Drinks are good.
But apart from the coffee shop, there is nothing.
What a shame. We will not come back if they will not do something to improve this place. There are some potentials. We have seen many people coming to Huahin. Many restaurants on Saturday are fully booked.
We hope this floating market...
