Pretty sad experience. Though the beach had some nice and unique views with mountains on one side and HUGE industrial buildings on the other. Anyways… the area was just abandoned. I walked about 4 km along the beach and I only saw a few guys fishing from the beach, and a couple of street vendors selling water and soda. This might be one of these places that were big before Covid and then never really came back again when Covid ended. I don’t know. All hotels were overgrown and abandoned but some places new ones were being built. Be VERY careful if you go here and do NOT take your kids. There are a massive amount of dogs and many of them are VERY aggressive. Until this area is back up and runining and cleaned up, literally just don’t...

I visited it yesterday (Saturday). It was such as nice location with a a wide beach area covered with big trees. About ten restaurants set up tables in the shadow. But I have no appetite. Two big disappointments: 1) The beach is littered with trash. There are so many garbages on the beach even in front of the restaurants. I do not understand why the shops do not spend a few minutes to pick them up. 2) In the back of the beach, there are two long (hundreds of meters long!) but ugly buildings facing directly the ocean. The front one is three-story high. It looks not finished. The back one is a few stories taller, and it seems only a few units are occupied. Those two long ugly buildings are the worst backdrop I have seen...

Normally a peaceful place to relax, enjoy a beer and some tasty Thai food. Beware on national holidays when they come down from Bangkok in their mobile speakers and compete with each other to see who's the loudest. One is tolerable (just) but when there's 2 or 3, it's just a deafening cacophony of pain. This despite many Amphur installed signs stating "No Noise Others". The beach can get quite dirty depending on tidal drift as there is just so much shite dumped in the klongs which gets washed out to sea. But it's much cleaner than Pattaya or...

Payoon beach is good place to hangout with family or relax. It has a night market every second Friday evening. Plenty of stalls for eat and purchase. Restaurants also available with beer. Nice beach at Banchang.

A beautiful beach on Rayong... Not crowded like other beaches in Thailand... There is an amazing Deep seaport bridge into the sea... A good place to having inexpensive seafoods and relax with family...
