The market is located approximately 80 kilometers southwest of Bangkok, in the province of Samut Songkhram. There are several ways to get there:

Minivans:

From Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai), you can take a minivan directly to the market. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs around 100 baht per person.

Train:

For a more authentic experience, you can opt for the train. First, take a train from Wongwian Yai Station in Bangkok to Maha Chai Station (10 baht, 1 hour). Then, cross the river by ferry to Ban Laem (3 baht, a few minutes), and from there, take another train to Mae Klong Station (10 baht, 1 hour). Keep in mind that trains on this route are infrequent, with only four departures per day, so it is essential to plan your schedule carefully.

Taxi or Private Car:

If you prefer greater comfort, you can hire a taxi or a private car. The approximate cost is 1,200 baht for both trips.

Recommended Visiting Hours:

The market is open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, the real highlight is when the train passes through the market, a spectacle you should not miss. Currently, six trains pass through the market daily: three arrivals and three departures. The approximate passing times are 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:15 AM, 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.

For the best experience, it is recommended to arrive around 8:15 AM or 11:00 AM, as you will be able to witness two trains passing in a short period.

Additional Tips:

Plan Ahead: Check updated train schedules before your visit, especially if you plan to arrive by train, as departures are limited.

Arrive Early: Besides avoiding crowds, arriving early will allow you to explore the market at a relaxed pace and secure a good spot to watch the train pass.

Respect the Vendors: Remember that this is a functioning local market. Be considerate when taking photos and interacting...

Talad Rom Hub, located in the Samut Sakhon province of Thailand, is a vibrant and unique market known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings. Often referred to as the "Train Market," this market is famous for its distinctive feature of being set up directly along the railway tracks.

One of the most exciting aspects of Talad Rom Hub is its proximity to the train tracks. Vendors set up their stalls along the tracks, and when a train approaches, the market is temporarily cleared as the train passes through. This dynamic creates a fascinating and authentic market experience, as visitors can witness the impressive coordination between the train schedule and market operations.

The market offers a wide range of products, including fresh produce, seafood, local snacks, and unique Thai street food. It is a great place to sample a variety of local delicacies, from grilled meats and seafood to traditional Thai sweets. The vibrant colors, aromas, and bustling activity make it an immersive and enjoyable shopping experience.

In addition to food, Talad Rom Hub features stalls selling clothing, accessories, and household items, providing a diverse shopping experience. The market is also known for its friendly vendors who are eager to engage with visitors and offer insights into their products.

The market's layout can be a bit crowded, especially during peak hours, so it's a good idea to visit early or during off-peak times to fully enjoy the experience. The presence of the train adds a unique charm to the market, making it a memorable destination for both locals and tourists.

Overall, Talad Rom Hub offers a distinctive and lively market experience with its vibrant atmosphere, diverse offerings, and the exciting train interaction. It’s an excellent place to explore Thai culture, sample local foods, and enjoy a bustling and authentic market...

It's a unique market situated on both sides of the railway tracks, perfect for tourism. The weather might be a bit hot, so wearing a hat or a cap would be helpful when exploring there.

"Train Market" is a renowned tourist destination in Samut Songkhram Province due to its unique location right beside the railway tracks. Vendors set up their stalls along the tracks, swiftly retracting their goods when the train approaches. This distinctive setting has made it a fascinating and bustling attraction for global tourists.

Established in 1901, the market initially comprised stalls by the railway. In 1984, it expanded onto the tracks, hosting around 250-300 shops. With eight train passes daily in the past, it's now reduced to about four. The market buzzes particularly during specific times aligning with train schedules—typically around 6:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 3:30 PM.

Vendors use cloth canopies as makeshift umbrellas, replacing the traditional ones. The market is famous for Maeklong's unique mackerel, known for its distinct taste and appearance, drawing visitors who wish to experience local flavors and buy souvenirs.

Beyond the Train Market, Samut Songkhram hosts other notable sites like Wat Bang Kung, the Amphawa Floating Market, nighttime firefly boat tours, and the Thai dessert museum, all easily accessible via various transport options.

The Train Market's cultural richness and its surrounding attractions make it a must-visit, easily reachable by public transport or private vehicles via Highway 35. It's a charming way to preserve and experience our beautiful traditions and heritage for...

If you’re visiting Thailand, you must visit this spot 😱🇹🇭 Welcome to the Rom Hup Market, one of the few markets in the world located literally ON the railway tracks. This market is located 1,5 hour drive from Bangkok and is best reachable by Taxi. We paid 1000 Baht for 4 persons. The schedule of the train is as follows; Train leaves at 6:20, comes back at 8:30 Train leaves at 9:00, comes back at 11:10 Train leaves at 11:30, comes back at 14:30 Train leaves at 15:30, comes back at 17:40 We would suggest you to be an hour early to wander the market. A few minutes before the train comes, the vendors are pulling their goods towards them to prevent hitting against the train. Just a minute after the train passed, the entire market is all set up again!! SAVE this post for when you’re in Thailand! 🧡🚃 #bangkokthailand #romhup #railwaymarket #thailandtravel #thailandtrip
