The Royal Thai Air Force and National Aviation Museum is an excellent and educational spot for anyone interested in aviation, military history, or just looking for a fun and engaging outing with friends, family, or kids. Located near Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, this hidden gem offers a fascinating glimpse into Thailand's aviation history—from vintage fighter planes to modern jets.

What makes this museum even more impressive is that there is no entry fee, making it a great budget-friendly activity. You’ll find a wide variety of aircraft on display, many of which are beautifully preserved and some even accessible to climb inside, which adds a fun and interactive element to the visit.

One of the highlights is the VR flight simulation experience, which runs between 10:00 am and 11:30 am. It’s a short but exciting session that lets you feel what it might have been like to fly aircraft from different eras—definitely worth trying if you're there at the right time!

It's a great museum for combat planes - too many of them.

Pros 100s of fighter planes to explore. Planes are in top-notch condition. Real F-15A planes on display The closed complex hangers are fully AC, and a cool temperature is maintained. A vast collection of handmade paintings of planes There are planes used in combat, planes with graffiti, images and more. There is a small restaurant and a good cafe on campus. A souvenir shop with a good collection of planes. Can visit for free. WoW It's just 50 metres of walk from the BTS station of the same name. The place is on the main road. There are some flight simulator games for kids and adults to play.

Considerations Many planes are there in the open, and it gets hot. Please carry some cold water, umbrella and sunscreen. It would take around 3 hours for adults to explore all planes, kids might take more time.

I would highly recommend visiting here. Please like this comment...

I highly recommend anyone who loves aircraft or wants to teach their children about the fascination of aircraft to go there. I think this museum should be visited at least once by aviation fans not only in Thailand but also abroad. It is very easy to get to as it is just a short walk from the Royal Air Force Museum BTS station. Admission is free. You can touch almost all airplanes and helicopters directly and take pictures freely. You can also enter some of the airplanes and even ride in the cockpit of some of them. Personally, I was impressed to see the Harrier so close up. There are not many people around, so it is a lot of fun to be able to take your time and look at the aircraft from corner to corner. It is a place that is not well known to the public, but I think it deserves more attention.
