The name, not just the Tarutao Island itself, is collectively covering the entire Marine Administration Area all the way over 100 km extended to Koh Lipe and the nearby islands like Koh Rawi and Koh Adang. The Park will be closed during mid May to mid November annually. During the rejuvenating period, Koh Tarutao and Koh Lipe will still be open for tourists. However, the Koh Adang Koh Rawi group of islands will be prohibited for all activities.
You need to purchase a Pass for entering(landing on the various islands)Tarutao National Park. The fee is 200 baht per all Adults except for Thai Nationals at 40 baht with seniors of 60 exempted. Childrens at half of the fee.
At the park all visitors are reminded to be abided with rules. For details, you may check with Rangers Camp at various sites. Always carry your Pass with you when landing the islands as you shall be requested to present your Pass for verification.
The most popular islands are Koh Hin Ngam for the marble like pebbles, Koh Jabang for the colorful corals, Koh Rawi the picnic spot, and various fish watching snorkelling spots. Be aware of sea lice bites at Koh Jabang. In fact Koh Jabang is not an island but a pinnacle of corals. Just because plentiful of sea lices to feed them beautifully.

Read moreTerrible experience had to leave early. Went there low season, last week of April. It was 43 °C too hot to go anywhere.
We called in advance but we were told to book the bungalows on arrival. Once we got there there were no bungalows left only a shared room with 4 mattresses on the floor and shared bathroom. The showers were extremely dirty and so we're the squatting toilets (the only option).
The restaurant staff was very very rude. At 1 pm they said there was no more food and we had to beg them for some plain rice (which we paid like a whole meal) we were forced to sit on one specific table. At dinner once again we were served expensive rice and they yelled at us for not sitting in the same table (the same one were they were cleaning the dishes)
With 43 degrees it was hard to walk the 12 km to the falls one of the few attractions, but once we did the falls had no water. There is no power during the day so the room felt like an oven with no fan. At night the power comes on... Until the generator failed.. With no fan sleeping was impossible.
