The name, not just the Tarutao Island itself, is collectively covering the entire Marine Administration Area all the way over 100 km extended to Koh Lipe and the nearby islands like Koh Rawi and Koh Adang. The Park will be closed during mid May to mid November annually. During the rejuvenating period, Koh Tarutao and Koh Lipe will still be open for tourists. However, the Koh Adang Koh Rawi group of islands will be prohibited for all activities.

You need to purchase a Pass for entering(landing on the various islands)Tarutao National Park. The fee is 200 baht per all Adults except for Thai Nationals at 40 baht with seniors of 60 exempted. Childrens at half of the fee.

At the park all visitors are reminded to be abided with rules. For details, you may check with Rangers Camp at various sites. Always carry your Pass with you when landing the islands as you shall be requested to present your Pass for verification.

The most popular islands are Koh Hin Ngam for the marble like pebbles, Koh Jabang for the colorful corals, Koh Rawi the picnic spot, and various fish watching snorkelling spots. Be aware of sea lice bites at Koh Jabang. In fact Koh Jabang is not an island but a pinnacle of corals. Just because plentiful of sea lices to feed them beautifully.

No wonder, Tarutao National Park is known as the Maldives at the East...

Breathtaking Scenery: The park boasts stunning landscapes, including lush rainforests, mangrove swamps, and beautiful beaches with crystal-clear waters.

Rich Biodiversity: Tarutao is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can encounter diverse wildlife, including monkeys, hornbills, and various marine species.

Historical Significance: The park has a historical background, having served as a penal colony during World War II. Ruins of old buildings from that era can still be found on some of the islands.

Island Hopping: The park consists of numerous islands, each with its own charm. Exploring these islands offers opportunities for snorkeling, hiking, and enjoying the unspoiled nature.

Marine Life: The surrounding waters are rich in marine life, making it a great spot for snorkeling and diving. The coral reefs are teeming with colorful fish and other aquatic species.

Remote and Untouched Feel: Tarutao National Park provides a sense of isolation and tranquility, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a more remote and untouched natural...

Terrible experience had to leave early. Went there low season, last week of April. It was 43 °C too hot to go anywhere.

We called in advance but we were told to book the bungalows on arrival. Once we got there there were no bungalows left only a shared room with 4 mattresses on the floor and shared bathroom. The showers were extremely dirty and so we're the squatting toilets (the only option).

The restaurant staff was very very rude. At 1 pm they said there was no more food and we had to beg them for some plain rice (which we paid like a whole meal) we were forced to sit on one specific table. At dinner once again we were served expensive rice and they yelled at us for not sitting in the same table (the same one were they were cleaning the dishes)

With 43 degrees it was hard to walk the 12 km to the falls one of the few attractions, but once we did the falls had no water. There is no power during the day so the room felt like an oven with no fan. At night the power comes on... Until the generator failed.. With no fan sleeping was impossible.

I'm hoping I got here on the wrong season.. But there is nothing here I...

Island definitely worth seeing. It is small, no fancy hotels. You won't find any accomododation on popular sites like booking. You can prebook online at park site, but it is easier to do it while you arrive. You can choose from tents through bungalows to ac small houses. We choosed it for its empty beaches and quietness. It is a National Park so there are two restaurants and one small shop. It is wise to buy things in advance on land, keeping in mind that electricity is available only in certain hours. So avoid things that spoil quick or attract bugs or monkeys 😂. You can rent a decent mtb bike and make your climb to the even more remote parts of the Island. I recommend seeing old prison and remote beaches, renting kayaks. On the down side it is an Island so everyday ocean washes up tons of garbage. But it is to be expected sadly. Still i recommend it. If you like active traveling, this is place for You. It is easy accesible from Pak Bara pier.

Fantastic national park, possibly Thailand's best with dense thick rain forests and untouched beaches, lovely scenery and many different birds and other wildlife, but there are a few cons. The woman working at Ao Talu Wao is very angry and unfriendly. She told us to put our tent on the grass near the pier, but in the morning she shouted at us saying we shouldn't put our tent on the grass but on the cement! Nuts! Then she started shouting at other people including children! Another incident was being over charged more than once at the visitor centre restaurant to know that it's a scam as the second time I noticed she didn't even check the bill until we caught her out. Also the woman working at shop is the most miserable person in Thailand, unfriendly and just rude. We watched her work, she is unfriendly to all customers. Obviously she doesn't want to be there. Nevermind I guess.....nature is why we came.
