It's worth going from Hat Yai and you can loop back around Songkhla Lake and Koh Yo Island. It makes a good day trip. Or if going from Phattalung to Hat Yai it's definitely worth stopping - only a 1km detour. I wouldn't visit from any further away, personally.

There's the standard short walk up which is kind of in the middle of various karst like rock formations. And if you have a bit of time to wander around and scramble up and down slopes there are ropes leading up some of the other rock faces, I'm sure you could get to the top of many of them without climbing equipment but wouldn't be easy. It would be good to explore but it's very hot in middle of day. There's a seating area at the bottom. Toilets are in bad condition. On a weekday unlikely to be...

Tough climb to the top, but the view is incredible 🏔️

Lots of thorns and no actual trail, but once you're at the really nasty thorns you're almost there! 🌵

Be extra careful on the way down, I got lost and spent an extra hour picking my way down the rocks 🪨

Do not leave your bags at the bottom. Mine was stolen, though police found it quickly with only a few things missing from inside 🎒

There are no ropes set up. If you're not physically capable of raising and lowering yourself using trees and rocks as foot/handholds, do not attempt the summit 🙏

Note: I meant climbing the mountain at the end of the trail. The park is accessible for all levels of fitness if you're just walking through trails, and the views are still...

A must-visit mountain when you are in Songkhla. The view is out of the world. It's also the scene where a famous Thai BL, Last Twilght, was shot.

Near the entrance, there are street vendors. From the entrance to the top, it takes about 20-30 minutes. The paths are a bit rocky and rough, and a pair of hiking shoes can make your hike much easier. There are a couple places where you might want to grab the ropes on your way up for safety reasons. If you work out now and then, this short hike should not be a problem.

The view on the top is breathtaking. Don't miss out on this place. It‘s...

Advised by our guide to depart at 5.30am from hat yai to see the sun rise. It's completely worth it as we get to see the sun rise and leave the mountain before it gets too hot. The route is made up of plenty of rocks and stones so hiking/sports shoes is a must. Not that easy for non-hikers but doable. Met the owner of the homestay who is really friendly and the dogs are very sweet as they wait for us while we hike up. Do visit for the good view and if you are a fan of Last Twilight.
