Visited Wat Khok Piew in Songkhla recently, and it was a very pleasant experience. This temple is still quite a new tourist spot, so it feels fresh, well-maintained, and not overly crowded. It’s a great place to visit if you want to see something unique and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.

The environment here is beautiful and calm. The temple grounds are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, making it a very relaxing place to walk around. One of the highlights of Wat Khok Piew is its impressive dragon statue, which immediately catches your eye as soon as you arrive. The statue is long, detailed, and beautifully painted in bright colors. It’s a striking feature and perfect for photos, especially if you enjoy capturing intricate temple architecture and sculptures.

From certain areas of the temple, you can also enjoy a nice view of the surrounding area, which adds to the experience. It feels like a good mix of culture, nature, and art, all in one spot.

There were no staff interactions during my visit, but the temple is easy to navigate on your own. There is no entrance fee, though donations are welcome if you’d like to contribute to the upkeep of the place.

Overall, I would rate Wat Khok Piew 4 out of 5. It’s a beautiful and peaceful temple that stands out with its colorful dragon statue and serene atmosphere. It’s not as famous yet compared to other temples in Songkhla, which actually makes it a nice hidden gem for those who prefer a quieter visit. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — it’s a good spot to take photos, appreciate the artwork, and enjoy a calm moment...

Visited Wat Khok Piew yesterday on a sunny afternoon by car, and it was such a calming experience. The temple is beautifully located right by the lake, and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. Driving there was smooth, and parking was easy within the temple grounds.

The highlight was definitely the stunning 7-headed Naga statue near the water – it’s huge and really photogenic, especially with the sunlight reflecting off the lake. I also enjoyed walking along the wooden bridge stretching out toward the water – a great spot to relax or just take in the view.

The temple grounds were clean, well-kept, and not crowded. It’s a perfect place to stop for some quiet time, say a prayer, or take beautiful photos. I could feel the spiritual and cultural energy of the place.

Highly recommend if you're around Songkhla or Koh Yo – especially in...

Nestled on Ko Yo Island in Songkhla Province, Wat Khok Piew is a historic temple that has stood for over a century, making it one of the island's most ancient landmarks. The temple's most striking feature greets you at the entrance: two magnificent Naga statues. These imposing, multi-headed dragons aren't just for show—they're powerful symbols of protection, auspiciousness, and prosperity in Buddhism. Their exquisite form is the temple's most recognisable symbol, drawing visitors in for a popular photo opportunity. Beyond the dragons, the serene temple grounds unfold to reveal a beautiful shrine and radiant golden Buddha statues, where visitors can quietly reflect, offer prayers, and...
