Read moreThis was kind of a fun stop. My visit was January 2023 and this is a bit out of the way and the roads are "not fun" would be a good term. I drove in one way and left in a different direction. They are paved, narrow and twisty and typical secondary Thai roads so be careful driving in.
But it was worth the drive. There is a natural spring coming out of the ground and it has been dammed up and has been really nicely finished into a couple of shallow pools with walkways and stepping stones. The pools are sandy bottomed pools that lead into a natural river that flows away from the pools' area. The water was beautiful and clear and cool to jump in and wash off the sweat. The fish were even nibbling on my legs.
Fees - Parking was 20 baht and it was not busy the time/day I was there. Rates were 100 for farangs and 70 for Thai and that included the 3-person rental boats/kayaks you get to paddle down the river. It flows through the jungle trees and fallen rocks from the karst cliffs. Very nice little boat ride.
I thought the staff looked after us well. You could have a staff member paddle the boat for an extra fee if you didn't feel comfortable trying it yourself and they provide life jackets. It was not an over-developed tourist attraction and I really enjoyed the day's visit.
I rate this 5 stars because it was so pleasant and the staff looked...
Read moreGreat place to cool down! Busy on the weekends with the locals. Not many tourists coming here. Clear water, cooler than the big lakes, you can see some fish if you snorkel.
Ticket for swimming and canoe is 150 Baht. Lockers are available, using them is free. They have padlocks with keys already hanging there. You need to follow the rules: no backpacks inside the park, only swim gear and phone or small action cam. The rest you can lock away easily.
The jungle canoe tour is worth it, very nice nature to explore. You know you've reached the end of the canoe route when you get to the ropes, blocking further passage. Half way through there's a sign, but it continues after that.
Make sure to have your team-paddling skills up, otherwise it's a good way to learn it. Solo riders may also canoe, but only if you know how to single-paddle a canoe. And these "canoes" here spin (and roll?) easily, so extra challenge for you? ;)
Good selection of street food outside the entrance.
Over all, worth a visit! You may choose the larger road to get there - via the big road 401, and then 4246.
When you are coming from the north (Ratchaprapha dam or villages) Google Maps may otherweise use a shorter route, which is a little more windy & bumpy, but okay. I would prefer 401 and...
