A steep descent and modestly priced 20 baht motorcycle parking fee greets guests upon arrival at Ao Hin Wong bay. The price of the motorcycle parking adequately matches the facilities on site; there's no functioning restaurant, so bring one of those expensive baguette sandwiches from town if you plan to spend the day. A highlight of Ao Hin bay is the historic pier (pictured) which is presumably maintained by 'Mol' with the generous income derived from the motorcycle parking lot.

For snorkeling there are two distinct entry points: head to the right if you're a bad MF who's not afraid of launching off rocks into the swell, risking certain coral rash while impressing the crowd. Head left if you're a rookie, you'll find the beach of shame where you can enter the water free from physical danger and simultaneously signalling your lower social status.

For those elite level influences looking to get some sweet drone footage for their 12 followers on youtube, beware the battle ready white bellied sea eagle that patrols the bay and is itching for a turf war with your plastic mosquito cam.

If you time your departure just right, you may have the unforgettable chance to run over an ahaetulla prasina. Should you receive a love bite from the Asian vine snake, you can have confidence knowing that the venom is 'usually' harmless to...

Prior reviews from a few months ago mentioned a lot of plastic but it has been cleaned up! My friend and I walked to this beach this morning; it's a very steep walk but doable. No entrance fee; parking for motorbikes is 20 baht. There are umbrellas and chairs set up that you can sit for free; the kind wait staff will bring over menus for you and explain that sitting is for free but you can buy food and drink from them. Water was 20 baht, soft drinks 40 baht. Smoothies and food were a little pricier but worth it. The snorkeling is amazing, so many fish and I overheard that others who went farther saw turtles!; snorkeling equipment is 100 baht to rent. The beach is a bit more pebbly, not soft sand. I also cut my toe at some point during snorkeling and when I asked for a bandaid, the wait staff were so nice--they brought me water to wash my toe, betadine to clean the wound, and many bandaids (and a few extra to...

Incredible snorkeling! We must have spent over 2 hours in the water in awe of the coral reefs and the ton of underwater activity. When we arrived, just standing on the docks we saw many schools of fish and even a stingray from the docks. Getting here, not so wonderful. After reading reviews of the road we decided to walk, it's not that bad if your in good shape (spoken from a hiker), but it is pretty steep up and down. That said, I wouldn't exactly wanted to have been on a motorbike for that ride neither. There are warning to not ride with 2 people and there are spots to park the bike. The only small restaurant didn't require us to pay an entry or buy drinks but they did have snorkels masks for rent which was convenient. It's not your typical beach side resort bay so it was pretty much deserted the whole time we were their except for a couple dive boats which made the experience that much...

Our favourite Thai island! 🌴 We haven’t gone to all the islands but Koh Tao turned out to be a pretty fun destination and loved by every traveler we met along the way! Here are some must-visit places: 1️⃣ Ao Hin Wong - Wiyh clear shallow turquoise waters, it’s the perfect spot for snorkeling. 2️⃣ Aow June Juea - escape the crowds and find the best sunset spot on the island! 3️⃣ John-Suwan Viewpoint - Hike up for breathtaking views of the island. 4️⃣ Sairee Beach - The bustling heart of Koh Tao, where you can find delicious food, vibrant markets, and a party that’ll go all night long. 5️⃣ Tanote Bay - If you’re looking for some adrenaline, the cliff rock jumping is a must! 6️⃣ Nang Yuan Island - Undeniably beautiful, but can get crazy busy! Get there early to enjoy the viewpoint. 👀 Our secret spot - Cape Ja Te Kang, this spot is bound to get more popular soon, come here for sunset and you won’t regret it! Is Koh Tao on your bucket list? ✈️ . . . . #kohtao #explorethailand #thailandtravels #travelblogs #travelcoupleinspiration #adventurenow #travelwithus

Definitely one of the best snorkelling spots on the island. We also loved that it’s quite a small hidden beach so there are not so many people around- great to just lie around and chill. There’s a 20b parking but you can just avoid the guy by going further down towards the beach. Plenty of parking and no reason to walk further. Just standing at the jetty you can already spot all sorts of beautiful marine life and there are schools of hundreds of fishes just sheltering 1m from the beach which is simply amazing. Sandy bottom so no sharp corals to cut you, but be careful that the waters get deep quickly.
