Pink Elephant Water Park – Overpriced, Dishonest, and Scammy
I’ve lived on this island for 11 years, working in hospitality, and have seen many families take their kids here. My daughter has been twice before, and last month I went myself for the first time. Today my family wanted to go again with several other families I invited. Unfortunately, it turned into a very bad experience.
Here are the three main problems:
The overall price is far too expensive for what you get. They charge 1,250 THB per adult and 750 THB for kids under 1.30m. That’s outrageous considering the park only has four slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. Definitely not worth it for such limited activities.
They manipulate the kid/adult pricing. Their brochure says the price difference is based on height. My kids are under 1.30m, but the cashier claimed that if they wanted to use slide 1 or 2, they had to pay the full adult price. That’s an extra 500 THB per child – basically punishing kids for wanting to use the slides. With so few attractions, this is unacceptable.
The cashier tried to commit theft. The total bill came to 5,200 THB. I first gave 5,100 and, realizing I didn’t have smaller notes, I apologized and added 1,000 more, clearly expecting 900 THB change. Instead, the cashier instantly snatched the money, hid the 1,000, and insisted no change was due. When I questioned it, she argued and tried to make me look like I was wrong. That was enough for me – I refused to go in. Of course, the kids were disappointed, so I told my family and friends’ families to go inside without me, and I left. My friend calmly tried once more to explain, but nothing happened right away. Only 20 minutes later did the “missing” cash suddenly reappear. The speed and confidence with which she took the money makes it clear this is not the first time. And no – this was not a case of bad math, I live here long enough to know the difference.
I had even planned to eat there, and with 5 kids and 8 adults the bill would have gone up much higher. Instead, I cancelled two of the other families I had invited – partly because of the rain, but mainly because this place doesn’t deserve another baht.
I refused to support them any further. Call me stupid, but for me this is about principle. These scams happen because some businesses see locals and expats as easy ATMs and think they can get away with it.
Even if money was eventually partly returned, it doesn’t erase the fact that they tried to cheat me and humiliate me in front of my family. In the end, I still paid for my family’s tickets included mine which isnt used. because the cashier never refunded when I said I wouldn’t go. Let them keep it – I hope they’re happy ripping off families. For me, this was the last time. I will never recommend Pink Elephant, and I will not allow my family to return. Koh Samui deserves better, rather drive to phukets waterpark then...

Firstly I’ve been in koh Samui 2 months now I have family who live here and I have visited this water park many times. I don’t really enjoy coming here as it’s not value for money but the children do enjoy it so obviously we come for them, but after today I will not be stepping foot back inside this place !!!!!!
Firstly it’s extremely overpriced 1250b for red band and 750b for a blue band even though they have 4 slides 1 lazy river and 1 wave pool which is almost never turned on. When paying in please calculate your total amount as they are known for scamming !!!!!
Today was the final straw for us, I went with my sister and friend and our children. We had been at the watermark from 11am and around 3pm a huge incident happened.
My son has hit by one of their lifeguards !!!!! He is 6 years old !!!!!
This lifeguard was new as I have been many times and never saw him before this was the first time I had saw him here, anyways in a nutshell he had asked my son not to climb up a small slide and my son did it anyway ( wrong I know but this should of been brought to my attention and I his mother would have handled this)
Instead the lifeguard took it upon himself to put his hands around my sons throat push him to the ground and pin his hands behind his back, if not bad enough while he was on the ground he was flicking his ear in a painful manner. I am disgusted by this !!!!
A grown man doing this to a 6 year old, the lifeguard did not apologise even when his manager brought him to us, the manager herself done nothing about the situation she gave one piss poor apology and that was that and the man returned to work. I couldn’t believe what I had just witnessed.
I was very tempted to call the police as he had marks around his neck and his ear was bright red but honestly didn’t think would get us very far as they tend to all stick together and it was our word against there’s even though he admitted to hitting him. plus I leave in one days time so it was not worth the aggro !
My son is fine but am still in shock at this situation and the fact nothing was even done about it. In the Uk grown men hitting children would face jail it just doesn’t happen.
I will never step foot back...
Read moreTHIS IS A WARNING FOR ALL PEOPLE USING THE LAZY RIVER AT THIS FACILITY!
This park has a lazy river in it which can only be described as a total danger. Our 4 year old who can swim and had a life jacket on was sucked from the surface to the bottom where the intake for the current goes. My wife who was with her was floating by and saw her go under and had to take 2 attempts to free her from the suction area. This left her with very deep cuts on her legs and my wife's hands. This incident was without exaggeration within seconds of our child drowning. These suction areas are labeled on the sides of the river at some points, but not this point of the river. We are from Dubai and use waterparks frequently and this type of design is utterly unacceptable. It's only a matter of time before a drowning here. The only redeeming feature is the non English speaking lifeguards gave us bandages to stop the bleeding. Stay away from this park!
The arrogance of the owner to place blame on the swimmers of this facility is crazy. Our daughter was wearing the provided Barbi Lifejacket and floating with my wife down the river and was indeed sucked in and area where her leg was in fact jammed and was ripped from the hole leaving deep cuts on her legs. Their staff will remember treating these cuts. We have read the safety instructions and we're aware of the areas where we should avoid. There was no signage st this point of the river and no lifeguard warning us of this danger. To tell us to take better notice of our children is disgusting and it's only by pure luck my wife was within reaching distance to drag her from this terrible situation. We have ridden lazy rivers in Australia, NZ, UAE and never had such an incident. Your river is a blantant danger to swimmers and by reading others comments it's clearly a recurring issue. It is only a matter of time until your river drowns a child and then you'll have a far bigger issue than defending your park on here. The fact it adheres to Chinese and Thai safety regulations makes...
