Visiting the photo spot for the Big Buddha at Paknam Temple was a truly awe-inspiring experience! The statue itself is absolutely massive and breathtaking—one of the most stunning and majestic Buddha images I've ever seen. Towering above the canal-side neighborhood, it creates an unforgettable contrast of spiritual serenity and urban life.
The photo spot down the narrow alley near the canal offers the perfect angle to capture the full height of the statue framed by trees and traditional houses. It feels like a hidden gem, and arriving there during golden hour gives your photos a beautiful glow and peaceful atmosphere. It’s not overly crowded, so you can take your time getting that perfect shot.
For a different perspective, I also took a short canal boat ride, which gave an incredible view from the water. The reflection of the Buddha on the calm canal is magical, and it makes for stunning, postcard-worthy photos. Inside the temple grounds, the view from the pagoda is equally impressive and well worth the climb.
Locals in the area were welcoming and helpful, and the surroundings were peaceful and clean. I appreciated the respectful signage and the emphasis on preserving the spiritual atmosphere.
Whether you’re a photographer, a traveler, or simply someone seeking something beautiful and meaningful, this photo spot is absolutely worth the visit. It’s one of Bangkok’s hidden treasures—peaceful, powerful, and visually...
Read moreAt the point of the writing the Buddha statue was under renovation. It did took a while to find it by foot, but under the Thai weather, it added a bit more effort. There seems to be a vendor for boat travelling along the small river, right at the location. The option is there to take it or not. Overall it is a good trekking/walking location, if you enjoy exploration. Uruea cafe might be a more conventional chill option which is on the other side of the river bank. But this location in my opinion is much...
Read moreThis spot is great to get a photo with some building and with the giant Buddha to get a perspective of the size of the statue. Also, there is a small boat service that operates there where it can take you around the water area for roughly 30minutes. It is a more interesting way to go to the temple and they will slow down in areas to let you get your photos and videos. You can ask to return to the original spot or you can be dropped off at the giant Buddha...
