Elephant jungle sanctuary is a great place to visit to spend time feeding elephants, helping them wash/take a shower, and to learn about their mission and purpose of rescuing elephants from riding camps in Thailand.
In these camps they are typically mistreated and forced to work most of the day. Elephants are really large animals and they need to eat 10% of their bodyweight every day to stay healthy, which is impossible to do given the harsh conditions.
The sanctuary started with 3 elephants in 2014 and now have almost 100. They rely entirely on the generosity of their customers to purchase and make donations to run operations.
You can imagine with their elephants weighing an average of two tons each the amount they spend monthly on food. đł
The staff is great, very friendly, speaks English well and are very accommodating. They have water, tea, coffee, and provide other refreshments like fruit. They are very helpful while you are engaging with elephants helping take pictures and videos to make lasting memories.
Be sure to bring a change of clothes and some flip-flops if you want to the helpđ take a bath! They have wonderfully clean showers for you to use on site so be sure to remember a towel.
Highly recommend you come and experience these...

Visiting the Phuket Elephant Jungle Sanctuary was truly one of the highlights of our trip! The experience was not only fun but also meaningful â itâs clear that the elephants here are treated with so much love and respect. The sanctuary itself is spotless and beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and natural environment for both visitors and the elephants.
We got the chance to feed, bathe, and even swim with the elephants, and every moment felt magical. Watching these gentle giants up close while knowing theyâre well cared for was incredibly heartwarming.
The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made sure everyone felt comfortable, safe, and informed throughout the visit.
đĄ Tip: Make sure to wear a bathing suit and water shoes if you plan to join the mud bath or pool activities with the elephants â youâre going to get messy, and itâs totally worth it!
Overall, an amazing, ethical, and unforgettable experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting...
Read moreAfter an amazing time visiting camp 2in Bang Tao last year we booked again. This time we were brought to camp 1 and it was very poor in relation to Camp 2. Entrance was clean and tidy, staff not the friendliest, rather impatient at our surprise at ending up at this camp. They offered to move us over but we would miss half of the experience so we felt it best to stay as we were assured it was the same. NO COMPARISON - environment for the Elephants felt like a petting zoo not a sanctuary, staff uninterested and swimming pool was so deep our 9yr old was unable to go in (despite them taking the money for a full experience). Food at the end was decent but was cold, you get a cooking lesson if you want but at this camp no opportunity to cook yourself as theyâd run out of ingredients! However, if youâre going to book and want a great family experience make sure you go to camp 2 itâs a totally different experience. Really disappointing visit, maybe if weâd never been to camp 2 this would have been ok and thought this was how things are, however Camp 2 is far superior in...
