Our visit to Khlong Phlu Waterfall later in the afternoon was a serene and enchanting experience that left our family utterly captivated. Arriving around 15:00, we discovered a hidden gem where tranquility met natural beauty.
The entrance fee of around 600 baht for 2 kids and 2 adults proved to be a reasonable investment for the captivating experience that awaited us. What made the timing even more delightful was the relative lack of crowds during the late afternoon hours, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the waterfall in a peaceful atmosphere.
The walk to the waterfall was a pleasant surprise. The trail, accommodating even our 5-year-old, was easy to navigate and well-maintained. The lush surroundings and occasional glimpses of local wildlife added a touch of adventure to the journey. The family-friendly accessibility of the path made it an ideal outing for visitors of all ages.
Khlong Phlu Waterfall itself was a breathtaking sight. The cascading water, surrounded by verdant foliage, created a picturesque scene that felt like stepping into a tranquil oasis. The natural pool at the base of the waterfall was inviting, and the clear water beckoned us to take a refreshing dip.
One of the highlights was the presence of knabberfischer (nibble fish) in the water. These playful companions added an element of fun and novelty to our swim. The experience of swimming with them was not only entertaining but also left us with unique and lasting memories.
The overall ambiance of Khlong Phlu Waterfall was serene and rejuvenating. The sounds of nature combined with the soothing flow of water created a peaceful backdrop for relaxation. We found secluded spots around the waterfall to sit and appreciate the beauty, making it a perfect spot for both adventure and tranquility.
In conclusion, Khlong Phlu Waterfall is a hidden paradise well worth the visit, especially in the late afternoon. The reasonable entrance fee, easy access for families with children, and the delightful addition of knabberfischer make it a must-visit destination on Koh Chang. Our time at Khlong Phlu Waterfall was a rejuvenating escape into nature, and we highly recommend it to those seeking a peaceful retreat amidst the island's...
Read moreI write many reviews and I really am stuck on what to write here ! I want to be positive but it’s not made easy by the experience if I’m honest. I live in Thailand and I am not a tourist - dual pricing is still common in Thailand and they show no shame at all - it’s like they don’t want tourists to visit these places !! So I have pale skin so I paid 200baht and my wife paid 40baht even though I hold a Thai ID and spend all my income in Thailand. If I question this I am told it helps maintain the park or waterfall or golf course or whatever you are over charged for. Well maintenance is certainly not funded by my entrance fee or anybody else’s - the hand rails are either broken or missing so no spending there ! Another over staffed place - 1 very bored man to sell you a ticket without eye contact or a smile - a second man 5 meters away to check your ticket !! We wandered up the 600meters of very unstable and rocky path and even managed not to break an ankle or 2, using the poorly fitted ropes in ad hoc locations we reached the waterfall - Niagara it is not, so don’t get too excited I am glad I did this trip but really unlikely to return. Sorry this has been so negative but it’s hard to praise such...
Read moreIt is a place full of life, wild and impressive. The entrance costs 200thb for foreigners, regardless of whether you pay taxes in Thailand. You also have to pay if you park motorcycle (20thb) and car (40thb). In addition, as soon as you park, on the same street, before paying for the entrance to the waterfall, they try to sell you soft drinks and food and when you pay for the entrance they do not warn you that you cannot enter plastic. Then, further on, the access guard tells you that you have to throw away all the plastic. So if you have bought water or something else that has a container, you have to deposit it in the container. Apart from these typical inconsistencies... The path to get to the waterfall is not easily accessible for people with some type of problem: knees, ankles, etc. Difficult for young children - my 5 and 7 year old fell several times. Once you get to the waterfall, the truth is impressive. It is a wonderful corner of nature. There you can bathe and relax and forget these little things that have bothered you.
Swimming among fish, listening to the water from the waterfall and the birds is...
