It's a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch/dinner in a traditional hut on the moon river in Ubon. There are no table, just a mat where you sit on, order your food from a menu and the waitress brings you your food. There are also seller with a basket that comes by, brings fresh fruits, snacks and drinks where you can buy from them. The price is a little bit higher than 7-ELEVEN, but very convenient. We had mango salad, steam bass, a bunch of traditional salad, Vietnamese sausage salad, deep fried baby shrimp in a tempura batter and a bunch of other dishes for lunch. After your meal, you can lay down and have a nap, very chill and relaxing place. Been here so many times. Oh and very friendly staff, we feel so welcome even before we ordered any food. Would visit again when I go back to Ubon Ratchathani.

This is a "must visit" place if you're in Ubon. I didn't see any foreigners here but it' very popular with family/friend groups of Thai people. Many restaurants along this strip, some with table seating. However the most popular dining option seems to be using one of the many floating huts here where you sit on the floor on mats and are served from the kitchens at the front of each pier. River fish being a popular dish, caught by small boats and kept in netted compounds in the river ready for serving in the evening. As I say, very popular with Thai families/groups, don't see many foreigners here.

If your desire is fish/seafood this would be the spot to go. We made a trip here and had 5 or more different dishes. I personally did not try them since I would rather eat beef. My choice. I give it a 3 because it is really not child friendly and I am not impressed with the cleaniness. Staff and visitors just throw trash wherever. Cigarette butts into the river, plastic caps into the river. At some point we have to realize all this trash goes somewhere.

There are a lot of restaurants here. If you want to try a traditional restaurant, go furher down the alley. You will find small rafts with dried leaf roofs. One of them has a table for around 10 people. It has a cozy atmosphere and after you finished your meal, you can lay down and relax a bit (or for a long time). The price is cheap and you get authentic Northeastern food. I recommend to order fried Moo-yau (Thai version of ham with a lot of black pepper), fried or grilled Kang fish and grilled freshwater king...
