This is one of the most fantastic freshwater swimming spots I've ever been to! Absolutely stunning. When we went the community had just tidied up and the caves were free of rubbish, thank you. I hope that the community keeps working hard to clean up the beach and keep the caves clear because it makes such a positive difference. We will be bringing all of our visitors here to see. Read moreThese caves cost 20 pa' anga per adult to visit. The caves are amazing, so definitely worth the price! You enter by going down a little path, and then entering the cave mouth. Once you have ducked under the entrance, the cave opens up very wide, so it does not feel claustrophobic at all! Inside, the caves are quite humid, and there are pools that are warm enough to swim in. The caves are a wonder of stalagmites and stalagtites, and it is impressive everywhere you look. Read moreWhat a place! We were blessed to arrive with almost no one there, and within minutes, it was just us. 45 minutes if quiet in a place of magic! The water is crystal clear - like looking through glass. The water was the perfect temp for us (we're from NZ).
A we left a couple of big groups arrived and one brought their sound system with them. I'm glad we were leaving.
The beach just down from the caves is lovely too and would be great for swimming at high tide.
