A wonderful experience! The road to get there is definitely in need of some work. It gave way for a very bumpy ride, but once you get to the tunnel it's amazing! The thought that trains passed through there. It's so high and long. Inside the tunnel are crevices made for if persons were stuck in the tunnel with a train coming. It's dark and bats have made it their home, but they didn't attack me. Outside the tunnel are washroom facilities, but they were closed when I visited. There's also solar lights along the road, if your visit keeps you past sunset. There's also carat sheds and stone benches on top of the tunnel so you can rest a couple minutes or even have lunch.

I finally visited and took a ride through Knolly’s Tunnel— something I’ve always wanted to do! It was such a fun little adventure. The tunnel was super dark, and I had to switch on my car lights. There was no cellphone reception, and the radio station got distorted. There were tons of bats flying around, and it felt like I was in my own movie scene. It was long, a little eerie, but honestly exciting! I advise you to go as a group, and make sure your vehicle is working properly 🤭. If you're walking into the tunnel, be aware of the stench emanting from within. Another adventure off the bucket list ✅🌌🦇

Knolly's Tunnel is a very interesting historical site to see, but it's not particularly fascinating. The hut area isn't well maintained so it's challenging to sit and relax as a family. The tunnel itself has bats and cockroaches, so.. If you want to see the inside then make sure to drive through and not try to walk through. In a nutshell, if you're coving from far, I wouldn't recommend making a trip for Knolly's Tunnel alone, but rather combine it with a couple other stops that would make the trip worthwhile. For eg. The famous mud volcano in Piparo is about 15mins driving from Knolly's Tunnel.

It's always good to learn the history of any place you visit and Knolly's Tunnel has some gr8 history behind it. With that said it's unfortunate that the relevant authorities are not keeping this site, which is a tourist attraction in my eyes, properly maintained. There is a small sign erected that is supposed to give visitors a brief history of Knolly's Tunnel, however the said sign isn't legible. It's a good thing we have smart phones with internet access. All in all it's a gr8 place to visit and make sure to take a drive through the tunnel or walk if u can handle the smell or more so of you can handle the bats. Yes bats, lots of them inside the tunnel. Check out Knolly's Tunnel today and enjoy one of the historic places that Trinidad...
