First thing people ..the west have a DIFFERENT kind of sun so hats, sunscreen (spf30+) and sunglasses are a MUST here. I def recommend those waterproof cellphone pouches so u can take pics in the pool. Worked out really well for as we were able to capture some moments in the water without having to worry about if my phone would fall in. From the time we entered , we and our bags were thorougly searched to ensure we did not bring any prohibited items including outside food or drink. I felt like there needed to be a little park map guide to give to patrons so we know lay out of the water park, the diff rides with the height requirements and the location of the different rest rooms and concession stands (and the type of food served there) This is a standard in ANY US theme park. I did not that there was virtually no wheelchair accessibility. There are a bunch of bridges with steps to walk over and they are HOT! I mean I crossed over the bridge barefoot as we left the lazy river to get back to our bags and if that bridge were any longer I would have gotten a second degree burn on the soles of my feet! The temperature of those felt like reaching upwards of 150â° on that hot day...I felt like the person who planned this should have thought of the material of the walkway on that bridge - needs to change ASAP....before y'all get sued Next the kiddie section, there must be some contingencies for special needs person/mentally challenged adults (who are not children) to be able to use some of the children slides. Remember some of them are mentally child aged and and cannot use the big(adultier) rides. Also what about the kids on the autism spectrum. At least one adult should be able to go on the slide with their kids- the kids may the. Get to experience more rides this way and enjoy the park more. (This is something that is DEFINITELY allowed in US theme parks/water parks). My recommendation for improvements- like all theme parks-a nice reusable collectible cup you can purchase at the canteens would be a cute additive . Maybe place some water fountains (to drink) at various points about the park as well. It would be nice to see a gift shop with some five islands memorabilia (keychains, lanyards, tshirts, towels, stuffed animals, photo frames etc) and a photo booth for families to take an instant photo that you print on the spot would be a great hit! I wish there was more food variety. I see they are trying to keep things local themed so maybe a kiosk with small local small bites(pholourie, somosas, wantons, Accra, geera eats)and some stuff for vegetarians(salads, wraps) other food options like cold cuts/sandwiches) the menu was pretty much pizza, fries, wings and tenders, burgers and juice and soda (and there wasn't a big variety either). I'd love to see some cold stuff as well. That heat was EXTREME! đ„”- some ice cream, lollies, snow cones would be nice! The bathrooms were clean and working toilets. Good size changing rooms. Would like to see some indoor showers as well.
Overall I gave it 3/5 stars as there's a lot of room for improvement especially in the...
Read moreFive Islands is a wonderful place to relax, have a good time, enjoy water activities, play games and eat tasty food. There are two parks (water and games). The water parks has all the pools, lazy river and slides. The other park has roller skating, kart driving and many other stuff. There is an indoor area with arcade games and trampolines. Food and drink is available. Did I enjoy the park? Yes I definitely did. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. There are so many things to do you that will be dead tired if you even attempt to do everything. So maybe leave the lazy river for last. The bathrooms were clean and staff were always nearby to assist you or guide you. There is a huge car park so parking should not be a problem. The place is also very family friendly. Kids will love it here. What I did not enjoy, when you arrive staff must search you and your bags. That is fine but the process took a bit long and the only shelter is under a tent. While waiting, rain came down and well we had to shelter with a towel because the process took a while due to the volume of people waiting to be searched. The park is huge with various places to sit. There are seats near the pool but many of them were old and dirty. I spread a towel across it because I did not feel comfortable sitting on the chair. Food and drinks were a bit expensive. Definitely check them out if you are into these things and with a group of people you may even be able to qualify for some special price as they often have group rates. Be warned though, that when the park closes at 6:00 p.m. and everyone is leaving it could take approximately one hour or more in traffic just to get into...
Read moreA park that brings out the kid in you....if you are open to the experience. Lots of fun, thrills and laughs. I pretty much underestimated the dragon fly ride...bout 90seconds of endurance required...do try it. Roller skating, wow took me back to my childhood days...although it seemed much easier back then. I think more can be done to encourage skaters...maybe an overhead covering with AC and maybe have the attendants helping in the ring or atleast actually skating in the ring..inspiring display of skaters in a show..it really needs some improvement..Go kart...loved. All the indoor activites were really enjoyable. The staff ..alot of attention to safety, puts your mind at ease. The attendatns at the body surf area, kudos to them..alot of patience when teaching the kids how to surf..however did not quite meet my expectations...thought it would of allowed more than one surfer at a time..thats not the case..so for the newbies its not alot of time spent actually surfing as opposed to waiting in line. Although i appreciate the concept, to play the games at the arcade you have to scan the barcode on the hand band..which is an adhesive strip stuck to your hand. Manovering to scan was particularly challenging...need a more user friendly system in my view. Otherwise, food was ok.... Facilities generally seemed clean. Looking forward to the opening of...
