Fort Abercromby its lookout points and the history that comes along with it is all fascinating. The wonders of long ago. The place is well kept clean. Different things to do there the different look out points, cliff fishing, hiking, picnic at the top of lookout #2 the views were breath taking. A direct view of Las Cuevas beach the fishing village and much more. The public washrooms are completely dilapidated and out of order someone should look into fixing it amd then it can be a sustainable place of interest for many different recreational things. I enjoyed it

The place was recently renovated. The benches were repaired and painted. The trails were trimmed and very well kept. The entire area was clean and neat. However, the place is not usually like this so on another visit it may be different. There are bathroom facilities but they are not well maintained. The view of Las Cuevas Bay and the surrounding is fantastic. The trails have a decent incline and is great exercise. It opens up to wonderful lookout points. The area is unsafe and visits should be done in large groups.

From a historical point of view, there is not much to see here except two old cannons. But look to the right of the cannons down the slope a little and you can see some concrete on the cliff top. This is the top of steps down to a delightful hidden cove. There is a walk along the cliff top (uphill), but the views are generally spoilt by foliage that I doubt would have been there while the first was active.

is one of the most beautifully hidden treasures of Trinidad, nested with the most picturesque hidden beaches lined with arches, caves and stumps that relaxes and stimulates your mind, body and soul.

Fort Abercromby overlooks the beautiful Las Cuevas Bay and provides remnants of our colonial past. The fort was built by the British in 1804 to protect against attacks from French who saw Las Cuevas Bay as ideal for landing their ships. The Fort was also established as the last line of defence. There are two remnants of canons that provides evidence of its historical past. The fort is also beautifully landscape and has 100 Steps to a beautiful lookout. There's also stairway that leads to a magical view of a deep clear pool below the fort and is ideal for relaxing, fishing, snorkeling and having picnics. So you're in for...

To get there, while on the North Coast Rd, make the 2nd left after Las Cuevas beach facility. It's a sharp left, very easy to miss, narrow road. It's basically Las Cuevas village, please respect the residents. Drive straight to the end of the road you'll see a health center, keep right and the road ends. You have arrived. Parking is available. It's very quiet and serene. Explore, take pics, do not litter. The walk down to the ocean onto the rocks can be difficult if you're not fit. Take caution with the cliffs. The stairway that says "Lookout" basically is a very long climb up to nothing amusing as trees block whatever was intended to see. The stairs ends but a trail starts and keeps on going to I have no idea. There is a small secluded hidden beach to the left of the Health Center you're at your own risk. Have...
