Ayder Plateau (Ayder Yaylası) is one of the most picturesque and tranquil destinations in Turkey, located in the heart of the Black Sea region. Surrounded by lush green mountains and dense forests, it offers breathtaking views that draw both local and international visitors throughout the year. The area is known for its stunning landscapes, fresh mountain air, and natural hot springs, making it a perfect spot for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Hiking through the lush meadows, exploring waterfalls like Gelintülü, or enjoying the rich cultural heritage of the local Laz and Hemshin communities are just some of the many experiences that Ayder offers.
In addition to its natural beauty, Ayder Plateau is also a hub for eco-tourism and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy hiking, trekking, and even paragliding in the summer, while in the winter, it transforms into a wonderland for snow enthusiasts. The local wooden houses and cozy guesthouses provide a warm, authentic atmosphere, and the traditional Black Sea cuisine, with dishes like kuymak and fresh trout, adds to the charm of the area. Whether you're looking for adventure or simply a peaceful retreat in nature, Ayder Yaylası is a must-visit destination for...
Read moreA must stop tourist attraction when visiting Trabzon. The Plateau offers a breathtaking scenery overlooking numerous waterfalls and rock formations, i visited twice during summer it was busy and full of activities like zipline rides which takes you over a nearby valley, very safe and easy to use. The guys were very friendly and helpful. In winter the plateau was also beautiful with snow on the top of the mountains and amazing dash of fresh air. There are some lodges there if you wish to stay longer and many shops and local restaurants. We had lunch there followed by the famous winter drink Salep and of course Turkish rice pudding Sütlaç. The plateau looked greener in winter despite the snow on the mountains. I recommend you visit it early spring or late summer to enjoy the views and activities without the hustle of...
