Gorgeous vineyard, great people, very scenic place. I had a good time. Nevertheless, there were a few things that could be better: this vineyard has only 2 wines that they offer commercially, and despite paying a decent amount for tasting, they only let us taste one of them. JUST ONE. We took a toor of the facilities. The guide was very young, energetic and and may be a bit inexperienced, without a clear story of what sets the vineyard apart from the rest. our tour started around 4:30, instead of the scheduled 4:00 pm. because we had to wait for some other guests, who never showed up. They asked us to leave at 5:30. We were allowed to taste their flagship Chateau Kalpak 2015. Last year, I had tried the 2014, which I had fallen in love with. but the 2015 tasted like it needs to wait at least another year before being drinkable. So we spend some 150 TL on tasting, tasted only one wine, bought 4 bottles of wine, spending almost 1000 TL, and were not allowed to spend 1 hour on their patio, which by the way has a fantastic view over the Saros bay. All in all, good experience, but could be better for the...

What a pity. Had been highly recommended.
We booked a tasting in advance but upon arrival were met by the manager/owner who asked “What are you doing here?”
Having explained we’d booked ahead he gruffly said it was their busiest time of the year due to harvest then offered us four day old wine, asking “what do you know about wine”?
Against our better judgement we bought a bottle as needed a gift for friends we were staying with that night. Sadly the wine straight out of a new bottle wasn’t much better.
It’s undeniably a lovely location. But in a country famed for hospitality and with other much better wines available in the region and certainly on Bozcaada, we’d give...
Read moreThis wine estate is a must see. Location, setting, views; everything is perfect. The cellar is a work of art, and actually an art gallery on it’s own; impossible not get impressed. The wines are also great. Chateau Kalpak 2017 is my favorite, yet unfortunately it’s finished. Hope the new vintage would be as good. Why 3 stars then? Wine tasting was bad. 250 TL per person, to taste 2 glasses; nothing to pair (well, if you’d call market bought grissini in plastic wrap wine pairing food, then there was something). I would understand if it was free, yet I paid a lower fee at Chateau Tour Saint Cristophe, that came with private room, 6 vintages, full pairing plate, tour and vertical tasting training. This place deserves...
