Sichuan Airlines - Chengdu - China 8.kez gittiğim Çin’de bu defa Sichuan Airlines ile Chengdu’ya yolculuk yaptım. Sefer İstanbul’dan Chengdu’ya direkt sağlanıyor. Ortalama gidiş 9 saat, dönüş 10 saat sürüyor. Konfor, hizmet ve ikram yönünden oldukça memnun kaldım. Böyle bir yolculukta ne yiyecek ve içecekler ikram ediliyor sizinle paylaşmak, merakınızı bir nebze olsa gidermek istedim. Konfor anlamında diğer havayolları şirketlerinden hiç bir farkı yok. İkram saatleri yerel saatlere göre planlanıyor. Gece boyunca (neredeyse her saat başı) kuruyan boğazınız için hafif meyveli ılık su veya yeşil çay ikramları oluyor. Yemek lezzetleri ise sizi oldukça iyi. Bir not: Çin dönüşü 2 valiz hakkınız var. Ortalama 20kg.-23kg.’dan 2 valiz için, toplam 40kg.-46kg.’a kadar ücretsiz hizmet veriyorlar! First a disclaimer: I've been through this airport only twice so far and my experiences are limited. My review might change later. That said so far I'm impressed by the nice design. It looks pretty and there are a lot of stores. However, since shopping is not my favorite pastime, the stores have not been personally attractive to me. Besides most stuff is expensive at the airport. Both times I went through, I didn't have a chance to investigate the airport much but I noticed the ancient sculptures scattered around and signs to the museum, which would be nice to visit if there's time (although its website claims that the museum is not free and the entrance fee is 15 euros). I also noticed one small play area for kids while walking around but I'm not sure if there are many more. In any case, I would suggest more. Now onto parts that haven't been favorable. The first time I went through I was extremely tired because of an overnight travel plan and I could not find a single seat to sit on near the shops after I passed through passport control. There needs to be more seating. My second big issue is about the free wifi. It was a challenge to figure out how to get the free wifi (not enough signage for it and not enough people who knew about where the kiosk was). After I found a kiosk, with some challenge I figured out how to use it myself (native Turkish speaker, so language shouldn't be a barrier) and helped others use it. But at a seriously critical time (needed it to track my lost luggage and contact family), it failed on me. I wasted most of my free hour trying to get back into the network and couldn't make much use of it. The second time around it worked nicer but the time limit was a serious issue still since it ended before I was able to get out of the airport. At most other airports I use, there's unlimited free wifi. Finally, there aren't enough places where you can get help. Maybe self service help desks could be used if there is a shortage of workers. Or the signage can be improved. When I was looking for the spot for voting, I had to walk a long while before I found someone to ask about it.

Huge, big and busy airport. I have visited this airport 3 times. Travellers teeming in at all times. The airport is pretty modern, with signages placed strategically to guide travellers. For those whose electronic devices have run out of power, sufficient charging points are available at the airport. You can find more charging points at the restaurants and cafes. Wifi is free for the first hour. Thereafter you can buy a 2 hour wifi package for euro 6. The airport also offers wifi pass for a day. Depending on your flight, the airport staff may guide you to a bus that brings you to your plane. Oops the distance is not a short walk . Upon landing the taxiing to the aerobridge takes quite awhile as well. The airport was decorated for Eid. Duty free shops abound. Cafes, bars and pubs can be found . The bars are not your typicsl bars but bistros that sell food and drinks. We had to queue 3 times. First the primary security clearance. Then you queue for immigration clearance, usually fast and friendly officers. Then there was the final security clearance just after immigration. Security checks are thorough and stringent. If you missed your connecting flight and have to exit and re enter the airport, you are well advised to get your passport verified, security checked and your boarding pass . We boarded buses to get to our planes. Duty free is not exactly cheap when compared with other countries. Lack of terminals ensures all travellers are in 1 big hall which makes it both messy and is also responsible for the queues.

Istanbul Airport has a sleek interior and high-end shops, but don't let that fool you—be prepared for some challenges. Explanation signs are limited and many staff members don't speak English at all. Firstly, the initial security check is straightforward; they're mostly checking for prohibited items for building entry. After that, things get confusing. Bag drop and check-in desks are scattered from A to Z (36 total) and finding the right one can be a hassle. Information screens are sparse, only located near each alphabetically-marked gate. Once you navigate check-in, you'll pass through international passport control. Keep your boarding pass ready for this and a photo will be taken. Regarding amenities, note that duty-free shops don't sell water. You'll have to pay a steep price at cafes. Boarding was chaotic. People were bottlenecked at the escalators with zero guidance from airport or airline staff. Thankfully, no children were caught in the chaos. Additionally, be aware that trolleys aren't free; they cost 25 TRL. If you're not over 65, you'll also have to pay 5 EUR for the use of automated cars. E-scooters are an option in some areas. As for Wi-Fi, it's only free for one hour and requires you to enter your passport details. So, while the airport has a luxurious appearance, these small inconveniences can add up to a less-than-stellar experience.
