KARAGÖL-ŞAVŞAT — Attraction in Artvin

Visiting Karagöl in Şavşat was one of the best nature experiences I had in Turkey. The lake is surrounded by green forests and high mountains, and the air is very fresh and clean. It was wonderful to enjoy such natural beauty without the usual picnic smoke that you often see in many other places in Turkey.

Walking around the lake is very relaxing, and there are small paths where you can see the reflections of the trees in the water. The silence and calm atmosphere make you feel very close to nature.

It is also possible to stay here. You can camp by the lake, which is a great experience for people who love nature. There is also a small building used as a hotel, so visitors who don’t want to camp can still spend the night in this beautiful place.

The area is well protected, quiet, and very peaceful compared to crowded picnic spots. I think Karagöl Şavşat is truly a hidden paradise, and it really deserves to be visited at least once...

Karagöl is one of the many natural wonders in Artvin. Definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend hiking around the lake; it's a relatively short and peaceful walk. You can also rent a boat to tour the lake.

The entry fee for a car was 75 TL, which is about $2.30, and I think it's very reasonable.

The road to the lake could use some maintenance, but you can navigate it with a sedan if you drive carefully. A high clearance car like and SUV will be better but not needed.

The surroundings are generally well maintained, though we did notice some litter. I hope visitors will be more mindful of keeping the environment clean and...

Sabah erken saatlerde veya akşamüzeri gün batımında gitmenizi öneririm; sakinlik ve ışık çok daha etkileyici oluyor.

Şavşat’a gelip de Karagöl’e uğramamak büyük kayıp olur.

Doğayla baş başa kalmak, biraz nefes almak ve dinginliği hissetmek isteyen herkesin mutlaka uğraması gereken bir nokta.

Ailecek ya da arkadaş grubuyla piknik için de ideal.
