Spectacular canyon wall and sea view, awesome beach but it has some issues. Boats pull in sporadically, source of entertainment.
parking: we got there early, ~9am, no problem. by noon, you'll be parking 500m away on side of the road. 15-25min walk on side of the road simply to get to the stairs. parking is free, but maybe, it shouldn't be?. police patrol begins with sirens around noon (on the beach, we hear them), trying doggedly to control parking, and keep the road open. there's lots of heavy truck and bus traffic, it's a narrow/windy road. important but tough job. beach is small. gets crowded, even off season on a good weather day, chairs every 5m2 or so (can hear phone conversations). folks come and plant wherever. it can be stuffy. expensive? 75TL umbrella, 75TL per chair (unpadded) is a bit high, perhaps. come with chairs, blankets and umbrella, it's free. beach is mix of sand, stone and rock. kind of worse case for foot comfort. the sand is white, odor-free, clean and coarse. litter, not a problem. natural growth, oils, weeds, not a problem. we saw only ONE scrap plastic bag the entire day, the entire beach. thanks to folks who manage the place. water chilly but ok (early June) on a sunny 29C day. over-your-head ~5m out. not wavy at all. mix of rock and stone. restaurant/facilities: restaurant/ice cream exist but quiet, so must be expensive. WCs clean and work. change rooms available but no shower to be found, wash sand off? inside the treed cove is ugly, mostly junk, big fridge and cable to lower deliveries. nothing to see.
overall, it's a must-see in Kas area, famous, beautiful. come early, pay some...
Read moreThis is really the place were dreams are made . For years I wanted to come but getting here is not easy as you probably need to stay in nearby kalkan or kas . Out of the two I would recommend staying in Kaplan as I liked the night life vibe there more. Got here around 10 am and we were lucky to be arriving from the kalkan side (west) as we immediately found parking just 300m near the beach . After we arrived I noticed the other side coming from kas has a longer queue perhaps at least 600 m to park . I read that you have to come here at 6 am to get a parking since it’s hot . I think it’s not needed if you know how to handle hot conditions in the summer and you are fit to walk a little. If your unable to walk in the heat then use a taxi or some other means . The beach itself was super amazing . With constant waves coming in and it’s great for children. While the beach has some sand , once you go in the water it’s mostly small pebbles , you may need a swimming shoe. We were there around 6th of July , we were lucky there was no heatwave at the time with high’s of 32. We had to leave after 2 hours of swimming to get something to eat . You will need to get your own food if you want to...

This is an amazing beach.... especially by Turkish standards....
Many of the reviewers gave it a negative review for trash and crowds, etc. However, this IS our beautiful Türkiye....we are a crowded country and we have a trash and pollution problem! Unfortunately...
However, that being said, compared to many other beaches here...it was beautiful and if patient you will get a parking spot...
The chairs and umbrellas for rent were in great working order and the water was warm and clean...
The location is breath taking and the fact the the canyon water merges with the sea is very unusual and cool!
As for crowds ...we love family here and we spend our free time with them...which would include children laughing and playing....if you don't like a family environment then i suggest finding a place off the beaten path that hasn't been discovered yet!
The food is pricey by normal standards so i suggest bringing a picnic...the signs posted say you are not allowed to but everyone does and you will find rubbish bins everywhere....
If you want a beautiful family beach 🏖️ that is a lot of fun filled with laughter and joy this is a...
