Kartepe is a nice area with a very beautiful view and nice slopes. If you visit, don't miss out going up the red slope to take a look. The food in the hotel is very good. The rooms could be cleaner and better maintained (one door was broken that one of us was stuck in the room), but beds are comfortable. There is a spa area in the hotel basement, which costs 200 TL entrance for pool + sauna + 70 TL for a bathing hat (mandatory for the pool). Massages start from 50 USD.
The skiing center staff is not very kind, unfortunately, and prices are very high compared to December 2023 (ski + boots 800-1000TL per day, instructor per hour and person in a group of 4 was 1200TL, Googles/gloves each 400 TL per day, Skipass was 1000 TL). Overall, each of us spent 3500 TL per day without an instructor but with ski, boot, trousers, jacket, goggles).
Especially for internationals it is not ideal. Staff does not speak English (well), so you can hardly find the best boots. Also, prices seem to change, sometimes you get discount for paying in cash or just because you don't have enough cash with you, sometimes you pay full, and with card you sometimes pay 400 TL extra fee for card payment. It is better if you speak Turkish and negotiate a better rate.
Also, there is many beginners who were never skiing before and tried their luck. Especially in the afternoon it gets crowded and rather dangerous as groups are standing on slopes to talk or overestimate their skills. In our group, we had two collisions caused by other careless people who lost control. Hence, we did not feel so save.
Overall, it is okay but better get cash before and go early on the slope. We will not repeat our holidays here, though.

Read moreOn 8 march; end of season: only 1 telesiej was opened. Still, prices are same! Skipass for half-day (from 12.30) is 1000tl. Ski/shoes/poles at 1000tl. But the helmet is at 750tl! (450 in Uludağ). And you also need to rent a box to put your shoes (!), hopefully i could drop them in the car. Kartepe parc entrance by car: 300tl. What are they doing with all this money? The resort is also bit outdated so this is sth I can't understand. As it was the end of the season and weather pretty hot, snow was not really good, but it was predictable. However due to ramazan the slopes were quite empty which was really cool. I cannot imagine in normal time, as there isn't too much slopes and they are not very large. Down the slopes we took a drink, cappuccino at 250tl. Drinks/food quite expensive but predictable. In conclusion, pretty cool if you want a quick day excursion from Istanbul (more or less 2 hours). However for the same prices Uludağ is waaaay better with more slopes and...
