This is one very special place, the whole 3km beach which makes up Olympos and Çıralı beaches is beautiful. Not at all built up and even in peak season there is plenty of space. The mountains make a stunning backdrop, sea is warm and clear (in August) and the low rise restaurants behind make everything very convenient. As you move further down the beach away from Cerali town it becomes even less busy, but there are still local restaurants, some front the beach and more on the road behind. Earlier reviews mention some plastic in the water - we did experience this but it is minor in comparison with many other beaches around the Mediterranean (the whole world in fact) and is being washed in from afar, the beach itself is very clean. Boat trips leave from three designated location down the beach if you wish to explore further along the coast. At nightime (9pm to 5.30am) in the summer months the beach is officially closed to humans to allow turtles to lay their eggs, when these hatch you can watch the volunteers dig out and count the hatchlings - if your prepared to get up...
