It's not a particularly big zoo. Most of the animals they house are birds, goats, and deer. The actually interesting and "exotic" animals are few and far between. Before I elaborate, I also want to note that we went to the zoo on a hot (38°C), windless day, so the animals were tired/hiding.

🛖 Conditions were OKAY at most. The animals seemed fed and housed in their respective environments. A couple animals were shaven due to the heat, like camels and bears. I want to note the lack of a more consistent water source in the cages - not good in this weather. Also at some point a few dudes were walking around with hoses and spraying the cages. 🦁🦓🦜 Animals: majority of them were okay. As active as one can be in crazy heat without much space to roam and shadows to hide in. Also it was kinda funny when a couple of peacocks got out of the cages and just started walking about. However, some animals have visibly bad skin/feathers/etc. like some peacocks' feathers are in poor condition, or a hyaena that has visibly itchy back. I doubt you can avoid that in captivity though. 🏪 Amenities: as a tourist, it costs 100TL for students and 200TL for adults to enter. You can grab a free map with numbered markings of cages, you have access to the whole place i.e. the park, the zoo, the toilets. The park has a lot of space to walk and it's generally pleasant and peaceful. The zoo is big enough to walk about for a couple of hours. The toilets were clean.

All in all, at this price (around £4) the zoo gets the job done. Though I would like to see more consistent...

The ticket price for two students was 4TL. After visiting I get why so little. The animals have horrible life conditions. No water, no food and if there is water it’s dirty like it wasn’t changed for at least a week. Parrots and birds have definitely the worst conditions. They’re overheating because of no place to hide, their feathers look horrifying. They look extremely sick and that’s very upsetting. We saw that parrots had thrown breadsticks and they were eating them which is poisonous for them. Also I had to point out the stupidness of some couple guest - they were throwing sunflower seeds to monkeys next to the sign “do not feed”. Of course they didn’t care.. They were fighting for it which looked dangerous + i’m pretty sure they shouldn’t eat salted sunflower. Zero zoo workers, nobody to look after the animals. Also, if you get some knowledge from the posters about the animals - don’t try to. Either there is no information about an animal or there are mistakes. Ara ararauna was named “blue ara chloroptera”. It’s a two seconds google search. Basically what was the worst was the lack of water and food in 40°C weather. If you care about animals and don’t want to watch them suffer there, do not visit. Except poor health condition of the animals, the stone roads were very slippery and dangerous to walk on. Prepare some sneakers for your visit because sandals of slippers may...

we visited this place a few days ago.. the zoo is quite clean, although I think that the enclosures for some animals could be larger, e.g. for monkeys. There was no hay for the rodents, even though it is the basis of their food. the culmination of the negative feelings was the sight of children without any supervision, screaming and climbing on the fences of the cages, aiming to upset the already angry monkeys... lack of staff who should react to such behavior... even worse moment when the boy threw gravel at one of the monkeys... very sad a sight, especially when moments earlier I saw a large number of staff hanging out right next to the zebra enclosure! I think that instead of drinking coffee and joking, it is worth taking care of the safety and peace of animals. also one of the horses has a very unkempt tail... it hurts just to look at it, some of them also look malnourished, a very sad sight. there was also a clear lack of staff in the building with reptiles... there was chaos there, people were banging on the glass, disturbing these poor animals. general disadvantage: LACK OF STAFF! Guests don't lose out on this, but animals do...
