The construction of the Izmir Wildlife Park began in 2006, after it was decided to close the Izmir Zoo, which was opened in 1937 as Turkey's first zoo and located inside the Kültürpark, and move its animals to the new area in Çeğli. become Izmir Wildlife Park, which was built on a land area of 425,000 square meters with a construction cost of 21 million liras, was opened by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality on November 30, 2008. 10 lira for students and 20 lira for adults. The ticket entrance is a bit confusing for people who don’t understand Turkish but the staff were very friendly and helpful and directed us to the turnstiles where you can tap your bank card and pay when entering through it. The zoo is big and takes about 2-3 hours to go through. I highly recommend visiting this zoo when you come to Izmir. There are a wide variety of animals and a petting area. The animals seem to be well taken care of and there are rescue animals such as birds that they take in to treat and release until healthy. The food there is also good and affordable and there is free wifi. One of my best experiences in Izmir so far.

We have come here several times and it has beautiful landscaping, enough shaded areas in the summer to make walking enjoyable and the ice cream at the cafe is really good. The entrance fee is inexpensive and you can pay with your public transportation card. There are plenty of restrooms around the park. I am thankful for this nice natural area so close to the city and accessible by public transportation. Bus number 777 from near the Karşıyaka ferry station takes you directly to the zoo. The animals seem sad, hot and tired in the summer and as mentioned in many posts, the mosquitos ate my son alive. I would recommend going in any season but summer.

Nice for kids. It is far away from izmir. The area of this zoo is quite big and you feel it as natural. The price for two adults and one child was 19 Turkish lira. I visited the zoo on winter season which may affected on animals activities inside. There is a nice place for birds living inside a big net. There is also a tropical area which simulating the tropical environment for animals and trees but becareful while entering this area due to high humidity inside and may creat side effect to whom has nose allergies issues. There is a coffee inside providing coffees and teas. The employees here are very friendly and cooperative.

Izmir wildlife park is a must see especially if you are visiting the city with children. From the central sea front, it is possible to get here via ferry and bus or by hiring a taxi at approximately 150 lira each way. The taxis from town tend to wait for you. Equally, if you ask the staff at the park, they can call a taxi for you. The peacocks roam the park and you can get quite close to them. There are a good selection of animals, including savannah animals. You'll also find a reptile park. No regrets coming here. Be aware that the food is not great in the park but cold drinks are readily available.

Before travelling to Izmir and after reading the reviews we decided to visit the park, although the transportation to that part of Izmir was weak We used ferry to osmanli iskele and from there took a taxi for 75 lira to the zoo The zoo itself was huge and there were so many different animals and habitats, it was amazing There were maps everywhere with nice graphics where you could simply check where you want to go We spent like two hours inside the zoo and since there was no decent restaurants we had to leave to get some food, otherwise we would have stayed more and enjoyed the wildlife
