The Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden is straight-up like walking into a living watercolor painting. The second you step inside, you’re hit with warm, earthy air, layers of green everywhere, and butterflies just casually floating past like they own the place. It’s humid (like South Asian Summer humid), so definitely dress light and bring water, your skin will glow like never before in what feels like a tropical escape right in the middle of Konya. The glass dome itself? Stunning. It lets in soft natural light that bounces off vibrant wings and tropical leaves, perfect for photos but also just super calming to look at. They’ve recreated a whole ecosystem inside, with 40+ butterfly species from across the world flying freely around you. If you stand still long enough, one might even land on you! I literally held my breath hoping it would but that didn’t happen, one did land on my friend though! What I loved most is how clean and thoughtfully designed everything is. You don’t just walk through and take pictures , there are signs explaining butterfly lifecycles, and you can actually see some emerging from cocoons. It’s peaceful, quiet, and kind of magical. Whether you’re going with friends, solo, or on a soft-date vibe, it’s 100% worth the visit. Staff are friendly, tickets are affordable, and the whole experience is unforgettable.

This place is a gem! At first I was reluctant to go only because in my head I was like “what’s so cool about a butterfly sancutary”, but boy was I wrong. This place is a habitat that’s perfect for butterflies to thrive and flourish. The environment that they’re raised it humid and warm, but not excessive to the point where it’s not tolerable. The butterflies themselves are absolutely majestic. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. They import the cacoons from many different continents and raise them there. There are plenty of fruits, and greens for them to enjoy. The scenery itself is just beautiful. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend this place as not only is it cheap, but it’s well worth the time. You’ll have a wonderful photo shoot session in there.

This place is just amazing! The government invested a lot in this project. So many butterflies in the garden from all of the world. The building constructed in the shape of the butterfly too. Personnel was very nice and cooperative. Parking lot is big enough and free of charge. It was very humid inside, so I advise to wear a t-shirt or something light, to be able to remove warm clothes when entered into the building. A little cafe at the end of the tour is very good idea, the prices for coffee and other drinks were fine. You can buy souvenirs and various gifts too. Thus, I recommend to visit this garden, it will be more nice to come with kids of course. There is also a small cinema with funny cartoons about insect’s life. Should be interesting for kids as well. 👍

If you are visiting Konya with your kids then Butterfly Garden must be on your bucket list. Although we visited on a hot summer day and the humid environment inside the arena further made it difficult to stay inside for a longer duration but the kids enjoyed every bit of it. The complete tour would last about 20-30 mins. Tickets for foreigners is 250 TL whereas for locals (Kimlik holders) is 150 TL. For students it cost 70TL and its free for kids under 6 years. Inside, the experience with beautiful butterflies was surreal. The huge semi-sphere arena has been turned into a natural tropical habitat for hundreds of butterfly species. The picturesque arena will leave you taking lots of memorable pictures.

A definite must see if you ever visit Konya. I would say it's one of the best butterfly houses I've visited. There are 15 different species of butterflies which equate to 1000s fluttering around at any one time. In order for the butterflies to flourish the temperature has to be very humid inside, just like a real rainforest. In relation to species, I was most impressed by the Atlas moth. The only drawbacks that I can see are, it can get pretty crowded and there's no translations ( in the museum part). On the whole however this was a beautiful place and wonderful experience. Great for kids and adults alike.

As an Asian, working here in Turkey, this place just feels like I was home.Tropical plants that I only saw at home were all there. 95% of butterflies came from the Philippines. A very interesting place to see especially for people who isn't from a tropical country. I wanted to give 5* but I didn't because I noticed the discrimination in a way that entrance fee for locals or with Turkish ID (working or residence permit) is only 17.50tl but for the rest of other foreigners, entrance is 40tl, a bit of an overkill if I may say so. But over all, it was worth a visit. Educational and very informative.
