KEY Museum — Attraction in Torbalı

KEY Museum (Key Otomobil Müzesi), established in 2015, is the largest automobile museum in Turkey. It is located at Torbalı, near İzmir. Traveling by car, it is a 10mn drive out of the Torbalı exit of İzmir-Aydın express way. Another means is by train from İzmir. The museum is housed inside a single story large building, probably built for this purpose. The collection is mainly composed of American, British and German cars of the period 1930-1960. Add to this some exceptional Ferrari's and Alfa Romeo's. My favorites are a Porche 1957 and a Kaiser-Darrin 1957. Vintage Rolls-Royce cars are another pieces of this wonderful museum. The Custom Cadillac is another wonder. There is another section of the museum, as interesting as the first part, and it is the model cars collection. An unbelievable number of model cars representing the whole gamut of automotive industry, sedans, sports, racing are displayed behind glass panels. At least 2 hours are needed for this visit. There is a small tea-coffee area and a museum shop. Unfortunately the shop is missing the museum catalog, I hope this will be corrected in the near future. All automobile enthusiasts must visit...

Key Museum, sadece bir otomobil müzesi değil, aynı zamanda otomotiv tarihine keyifli bir yolculuk sunan harika bir deneyim alanı. Klasik otomobillerden motosikletlere, model araçlardan vintage benzin pompalarına kadar oldukça geniş bir koleksiyona sahip. Her şey büyük bir özenle düzenlenmiş ve her yaştan insanın ilgisini çekebilecek şekilde tasarlanmış.

Müzeyi gezerken kendimi adeta bazı filmlerin içinde gibi hissettim. Özellikle sinema ve otomobil tutkunları için bu çok özel bir his çünkü burada, bazı ünlü filmlerde kullanılan araçların modellerini ve oyuncak versiyonlarını da görmek mümkün.

Fiyat konusuna gelirsek, “çok pahalı” yorumlarını gördüm ama bence kesinlikle değil. Sergilenen parçaların kalitesi, ortamın temizliği, koleksiyonun genişliği ve ışıklandırmanın mükemmelliği düşünüldüğünde, giriş ücreti gayet makul. Otomobillere, tasarıma veya tarihe ilgi duyan herkesin mutlaka ziyaret etmesi gereken bir yer!

Everything is meticulously arranged and designed to capture the interest of visitors of all ages.

As I walked through the exhibits, I felt like I was inside some of my favorite movies. This is an especially unique experience for cinema and car enthusiasts, as you can find models and toy versions of vehicles that have appeared in famous films.

As for the price, I’ve seen comments saying it’s too expensive, but I strongly disagree. Considering the quality of the exhibits, the cleanliness of the space, the vastness of the collection, and the perfect lighting, the entrance fee is quite reasonable. Never before have I visited a museum so immaculate and pristine that I was almost afraid to step inside for fear of my shoes leaving a mark on the floor! Every square centimetre of this place is polished and shining, giving the effect not of a real venue but rather something computer-generated! The exhibits themselves are fantastic for anyone with an interest in automobile history, especially British and American models.
