Going there usually requires a seperate trip to this place, it’s not on your way to/from somewhere, so people make an effort to go there. We went there in summer with our kids, to see around, taste and buy some wine. We were immediately greeted by someone who tried to give us some information about the tasting tour with constant emphasis on how much it was. Nothing welcoming, just a cold script. In addition to this, very poor hospitality- for example, no water offered as a courtesy in the scorching heat. The person who greeted us said they could get us into the current tour, 2 secs later she said that one was actually about to finish and they could get us into the next one in 30 mins BUT the kids would have to wait somewhere else as they weren’t allowed. Then we enquired if there was a coffee shop to get some refreshments/ somewhere we could taste some wine and then buy and answer was no. be Ultimately they said we could just go in and buy wine in tasting hall but we wouldn’t be able to taste any wine whatsoever before buying! I am familiar with some of their wines, so would just go in and buy but this time, another person said the kids would have to wait outside the shop area if we wanted to buy wine then just turned his back and left. Staff is disconnected, careless and not empathetic. Totally oblivious!!! Is it the heat??!!! Obviously we left without buying the wine, in fact, without even stepping in to their shop/tasting area. I understand that there are some rules and regulations about age restrictions and alchohol but this is utterly disappointing. Not welcoming, no hospitality!!! Do not go there, do not make the effort, not worth it. Their wine could be good but it’s the whole package for me. A good proof of the stark difference between how a brand portrays itself on social media and how it is in reality....
Read moreOne of the many wineyards in this region. After we left the highway and turn to midland; we drive through olive trees, cotton fields and vineyards. Pure nature and silence covers us. As we arrived the vineyard 'Urla Şarapçılık' a nice building approaches at the hill. In this nice building we met two facilities, one of of them was the hotel: "Two Rooms Hotel" a micro boutique hotel and really only two rooms. The other was the winery. A worker who was specialist about wine, called with surname "Cavit bey" welcome us and quided us first through the two rooms hotel and later in wine cellar. The gentleman shows us all the process from grape to wine. He explained us the secrets about grapes und answered our questions patiently. The tour and the visit of this wine yard is free of charge. There is also a shop where you can buy some wines. The shop and cellar area is been for the children and youths under eighteen forbidden because of the Turkish authority rules to save youths from alkohol and bad habits. I think this place is one of the must see places in the Çeşme halfisland. I congratulate the owner. I was here:...
Read moreBest of the local vineyards for overall quality of wine and layout of the facility. The red and white wines are wonderful and the desert wine is just right for warm days, not too sweet. While the layout of the facility may seem commercial, it is well suited to handle the constant flow of people who stop by for a tasting. Smaller local vineyards are only able to handle 1/4 of the people. The owner and his family are very friendly and have great plans for expanding to include a restaurant and another hotel. Well worth the time to stop and visit. Look for interesting details such as the lower fishpond actually is over the barrel storage area, and there is a two room hotel above the tasting area yet the soundproofing makes it very quiet and intimate. Best of all is they can ship within Turkey if you wish to buy and not have to...
