Flamingo Pond Overlook — Attraction in North Caicos

The overlook is by the side of the road. Easily accessible on the right driving from the ferry terminal. I visited in May 2017 and the place looked abandoned. Needs maintenance but that does not keep you from using it. From the top of the platform you can see a huge landscape of up to 150 degree angle of different ponds. I was there early in the morning and I saw plenty of flamingos. They are considerably far, so you will need a really good high range zoom camera or binoculars. Beware of mosquitoes. Lots of them. Otherwise, a must in North Caicos. Also, One quick recommendation, if you drive from here to Three Mary Cays you will run into a pond where there is a T to the right or left. You could see flamingos there way closer. Just don't make too much noise. The road is is i'll be treacherous but...

No flamingos the day we went, that's nature. It was very windy that day and I'm not sure about when/where/why flamingos go where they go. If they do happen to be there and you have a pretty good set binoculars you will be set. If you want to view them with the naked eye it's probably not...

Well, you can see lot of Flamingos but their that quite far. The reason I rate 5 is because of the smart move by island not to ruin the peace for those lovely birds. Enjoy from far and get your 600mm lens at the minimum. Else, you can hardly get a picture good enough...
