I've been a customer at Islands Bargains since they arrived in the Turks and Caicos Islands; this is back when they consolidated all your items for free, as it was one of their selling points. Over the years, as their operations expanded and their client base grew. It became easier for customers to upload invoices and pay for their items, which is greatly appreciated and convenient for customers. With that said, I am very disappointed in this company. For a company that has been around for so many years now, the customer experience has not gotten any better, and to be honest, it has gotten so bad that it genuinely doesn’t make any sense at times.
They introduced the express pickup window that allows customers to pay for their items online and pick them up from the window without having to go inside the building. When this was first introduced, this new addition was widely accepted and very fast. Fast forward to today, and honestly, it’s so infuriatingly slow that it truly doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand what process they have going on at that place because it doesn’t make sense. How can you send people an email saying that your package is ready for pickup and with an invoice to pay online, but you have to wait an hour before coming for the package? What processes are they using? Why are these packages not placed together for the specific customer after being cleared by customs? Even if you do come after an hour, you’re still there waiting for almost an hour to get your stuff anyway, which makes no sense. You’re left there standing outside, wasting your time, and for most people who try to come there on their lunch hour, you’re basically using your entire lunch hour waiting in what is supposed to be the “Express Pickup.” The position of the Express Pickup window is horrible! I’m sure this wasn’t something they were aware of when they planned to put it there, but it sucks. Where the window is located, the sun is always, and I mean ALWAYS, on you, so not only is the window NOT an Express Pickup, but you’re also waiting outside in the hot sun—being punished for trying to be proactive and paying for your stuff online. The only saving grace of the Express Pickup window and the agent they have working there, she is always very nice and accommodating. They need to do...
Read moreTrust me if I could’ve written this review without a star, I wouldn’t even put one star on this review. These people are on a different level of scamming. I just received a package and basically paid the same amount for shipping that I paid for my package. You guys need to do better you telling me I have to pay $24 for shipping for a package that cost only nine dollars and an additional 40 something dollars for a package that doesn’t even cost half of that and my package doesn’t even weigh 10 pounds not even close and on top of everything my items took almost a month to get here and they told me that they used air shipping if used air shipping it’s supposed to be here in a few days not weeks you guys need to tighten up. Highly disappointed in you, Island Bargains. I will be taking my business to OEC or Air and sea shipping..thanks...
Read moreFriendly staff but I'm extremely disappointed by the speed/efficiency - or lack of it! I paid for air shipping to Provo for two items and it is clear that you are at least as fast shipping by boat! To be told, as I was, that everything is backlogged because of a holiday and staff shortages isn't good enough when you're expediting urgent goods! And apologies are not convincing unless they are accompanied by an adjustment...
