I can say that Kampala, the capital city of Uganda is also the capital of religion in East Africa coz basing on the number of cathedrals and other notable places of worship like the Namugongo Shrine, Rubaga Cathedral, Namirembe Cathedral, Baha'i Temple and so many others it is in deed also a religion capital of the East African region.
When in Kampala, create some time to visit the St Mary's Cathedral at Rubaga Hill. It is a very beautiful house of worship. I understand that at least 3 pope's have visited this church. It has so much history that you shouldn't miss.
Entry to the Rubaga cathedral is FREE. You don't have to pay anything. If lucky you can also be able to see inside the church. Taking of photos is also allowed. Take as many as you can. If you have much time you can also come on Sunday for a service.

Attended funeral service. Room for improvement. Parking space versus capacity ot Cathedral just outbif sink it's crazy. People resort to Parking unsafely all the way downhill. Sound system poor. Sat in the middle of the Cathedral but could barely follow the service. Echo, Sound distortion low volume. Carpets in middle aisle weren't secured so are a trip hazard. Imagine mourners entering church then tripping? The flat screens way too small for t he people beyond id say 30 percent of distance from the front of the church. Rubaga Cathdral Another Cathedral but this one is of the Catholic persuasion. Again this cathedral is located on one of Kampala’s many hills so views are great. Kampala is fabled to have 7 hills. It in fact has 22 but Rubaga is one of the original ones and, therefore, worth a visit for historical reasons.
