Nakasero food market is the right choice for your need for fresh and cheap foods. The place is full of variety of food staffs and prices. However the prices are cheaper the earlier you visit the market, as time passes by, the prices keep on increasing. This is due to the fact that farmers bring their produces to the market in the night so when you visit early, you find them still selling and you will have a chance to buy as a food trader but when they leave the market at around 9am, prices may double or sometimes triple.
There is congestion at all times though very congested ealier in the mornings since farmers are still around and trucks that offload and load staffs continuesly carry on their normal work. The market is full of fresh organic and non organic food products both local and international products can be found in the market.
I would advise you to negotiate prices not to pay exactly what they ask for.. reduce the price as you negotiate to about 30% less the prices they ask you..
I always look forward...

If its possible, don't carry and phone...
