Nakasero food market is the right choice for your need for fresh and cheap foods. The place is full of variety of food staffs and prices. However the prices are cheaper the earlier you visit the market, as time passes by, the prices keep on increasing. This is due to the fact that farmers bring their produces to the market in the night so when you visit early, you find them still selling and you will have a chance to buy as a food trader but when they leave the market at around 9am, prices may double or sometimes triple.

There is congestion at all times though very congested ealier in the mornings since farmers are still around and trucks that offload and load staffs continuesly carry on their normal work. The market is full of fresh organic and non organic food products both local and international products can be found in the market.

I would advise you to negotiate prices not to pay exactly what they ask for.. reduce the price as you negotiate to about 30% less the prices they ask you..

I always look forward...

Maybe I dislike it but you might like it. I only have one problem with them, thieves and pickpocketing that goes on around this place. Lost my phone and all my saved memories to thieves here. However being a market place, they have good organic products, a variety to be exact. Even things I had never heard of like Kale. ;-) anyway...it's the goto place for all organic vegetables, just try and be careful, extremely careful with your items. If its possible, don't carry and phone...

It is the best place in kampala to purchase variety of vegitables, fruits and various foods and spices. But be aware of possibilities of being given fake goods at times. So be alert and informed to avoid being given rotten and weird products. It is safe to get one person who will help you get many products to avoid fake or bad products. But if you are well informed you can be safe.i would recommend move with someone familiar with the place for...

This is the most crowded marketing in Kampala especially during early morning hours. Also it the only place where you can find your favorite fresh foods, vegetables, etc straight from the garden farmers bring their products to this marketing for trading. But also pick pocketers are like this area since it is so crowded but personally i recommend it to people who like fresh foods, and for people who like fresh cheap foods this is the place.

This is a great open market to buy all sorts of fruits and vegetables at great prices. Prices vary wildly so look around for the right price and good quality. They tend to charge a bit more for foreigners. Be very very very careful as the place is flooded with pickpockets. Do not carry any important documents with you. Also bargain a little, but the rule is once you start bargaining, you will eventually buy .
