N.L. Shustov Cognac Museum — Attraction in Odesa Urban Hromada

This could easily been a 5 star rating. Why i give 4 will be explained. First of all the museum is a "must see" for cognac lovers. The degustation tour is very interesting. I did not know that Ukrain and Odessa has a production of "brandywine" with permittion to call it Cognac , but now i know. The only minus on this tour is the female guide. To be honest she is very nice but.... she spoke very very fast , with some strange accent and in a mechanical way so it was near to impossible to understand her. I use the english language every day but i i had to ask her slow down but she ignored that completely. My wife understood even less than me of what the guide said. So if the museum could teach this lady better english and slow down a bit it would be a 5+...

We didn't know there is a Cognac producer in Ukraine, and a great one too! Hubby loves cognac and he was over the moon when he saw all the cognac, the corridor smell of cognac as the bartender poured various cognac for upcoming tasting group.

We came without appointment , and even though the guide scheduled to host two Russian groups, he made time to talk to us a bit and explained how Shustov able to use "cognac" in its branding. Hubby tasted a 50 years old cognac and he loved it! Compared to French cognac, Shustov's price is very affordable! We ended up buying a 40 yo and 20 yo cognac....

Un goût de l'histoire et une histoire du goût?

Ce n'est pas par hasard que le Consulat de France en Odessa se trouve dans les caves chez Shustoff. L'histoire des relations la famille Shustoff et la France remonte à plus de 100 ans. Aujourdh'oui la nouvelle génération des deux pays ne sait pas pourquoi alcool de "Shustoff" a le droit d'être appelé cognac. Je sais déjà pourquoi, et je vous invitais et je dis bienvenue pour une dégustation et une excursion passionnante! Les Ukrainiens pensent que les Français, grace de droit naissance, savent beaucoup sur le vin et, bien sûr, comment "manger" le cognac ... mais la déception sera déjà avec les 3 premières questions du guide ... Il faut apprendre la théorie... et un nez et gorge françaises ne suffit pas ici. Je recommande vivement de prévoir deux heures de votre temps précieux pour vous familiariser avec la production de Shustoff à Odessa, pour faire connaissance avec le merveilleux guide Sergey. Prenez traducteur français et votre soirée sera certainement perfecte. Vous aurez envie de retourner dans les belles salles et galeries des caves chez Shustoff en compagnie d'amis et de célébrer l'événement special Date de l'expérience...
