I had visited BAPS Mandir Abu Dhabi on 30th May 2025 around noon time with my wife. The experience at the security at the entry was terrible, harrowing and humiliating. The way security personnel checked my sling bag which had my passport, travel documents, currency etc., it was shocking the way they counted the Dirhams and other currency notes. And then they took out power bank and a small thermos water bottle that I was carrying. I was carrying powerbank so my mobile does not run out of battery. I was denied entry saying these items are not allowed. They simply asked me to keep it in the car as these are not allowed inside the temple. I informed that I have been dropped by a friend who has already left and that he will come after 2 hours and I requested them to help me. I asked them to keep it at a corner or some place. I asked them why they have not kept a small section where such 'not allowed' items can be stored. It will help devotees who are coming from India and other far off places. The security staff was very very rude and gave me justification that around thousand people come and they cannot keep such things. They casually suggested that I throw these items in a dust bin that was placed somewhere outside in the parking. They even very rudely ordered me to move out and leave the temple premises. It seemed they were getting some kind of sadistic pleasure in torturing me like this. My wife had already entered the temple so I had no option but find a way out. I called my friend who was kind enough to come back. I kept the power bank and water thermos bottle and asked my friend to wait for 20 minutes as I will quickly rush inside the temple and come. I went inside at the temple entry. Again the security were terrible and played their games of molesting and torturing devotees. They again humiliated me by checking my now-empty sling bags, checking my passport, my currency etc. Took out each and every thing as if to tell me why I have come visit the temple. Once inside the temple premises, and Feeling humiliated and isolated in a distant country, the mind was saying to leave. But as they say, the divine intervened and we paid our humble reverence and obeisance to our presiding deities. We had Prabhu ka prasad and we left the BAPS Mandir in about 15 minutes or so. What was planned to be a good 2 hour visit to BAPs Mandir had got cut short to just 15 minutes. I have been avoiding giving my feedback of my terrible experience but I thought it my help our brethren who have BAPS Mandir Abu Dhabi as a 'Must to Visit' when they visit Dubai/ UAE.
I also feel that maybe it may help the managing committee of BAPS Mandir Abu Dhabi to wake up from their slumber and at least watch the video recording of how the security personnel at the X-ray machine at entry are treating the devotees. It is also equally surprising that when the premises can have a huge place for keeping shoes and chappals of the devotees, why a similar arrangement cannot be made in the parking area in a remote corner. Another feedback, unfortunately, there are no shade or resting benches or any resting place outside the temple premises. And you literally get roasted in noon when temperatures are close to 40 degrees. Maybe the temple committee can give this aspect a thought along with providing drinking water facility. I feel this temple is overhyped. UAE, which is one of the safest place on the earth, this absurd security at the temple, by security staff (who treat devotees with disdain and torture) makes absolutely no sense. One more feedback. We wanted to make our humble contribution. The person rudely told they do not accept Indian Rupee but only UAE Dirham and US Dollars. Seeing our humble donation, person gave us a stare as though we are beggars. We felt so insulted by arrogant attitude of the person. This temple is overhyped. This absurd security at the temple at UAE, which is one of the safest place on the earth followed by the staff at donation counter, the experience and insults reached...
