Attending the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi was truly an unforgettable experience — hands down, the best New Year I’ve ever had! From the moment I entered the festival grounds, I was struck by the energy and vibrancy of the event. The festival, which celebrates the heritage and culture of the UAE, was transformed into a spectacular venue for ringing in the new year, with a perfect mix of tradition and modernity.
The fireworks display was nothing short of breathtaking. It felt like the entire sky was lit up in a symphony of colors, perfectly synchronized with music. It was the most impressive fireworks show I’ve ever witnessed, and the crowd’s excitement added to the magical atmosphere. The view of the fireworks from the festival’s main stage was absolutely stunning.
The festival itself offered a fantastic variety of activities — from cultural exhibitions to thrilling amusement rides, artisan markets, and live performances. There were traditional music shows and dance performances that gave me a deeper appreciation for the UAE’s rich culture. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and lively, with something for everyone to enjoy.
For food lovers, the festival didn’t disappoint either. A diverse range of food trucks and stalls offered delicious international and local delicacies, so I indulged in everything from traditional Emirati dishes to global street food, making it a gastronomic experience in itself.
The weather in Abu Dhabi on New Year’s Eve was perfect, and the festive lights added a beautiful touch to the already stunning surroundings. The entire experience felt incredibly well-organized, from the crowd control to the seamless flow of events.

One of the most anticipated events is the New Year’s Eve celebration, renowned for its spectacular fireworks, laser shows, and drone displays. The 2024 celebration featured a 53-minute nonstop fireworks display and a 20-minute show involving 6,000 drones, aiming to set new Guinness World Records.
