The professors at our university are outstanding, and those we interact with directly are excellent. However, the administration is another story. The security personnel are particularly unpleasant, enforcing bizarre and restrictive rules like prohibiting standing in hallways, sitting in empty classrooms, or bringing students from other universities to events. It's worth noting that we are the only university in Dubai with such absurd policies.
The exam scheduling is a nightmare. We currently have nine exams crammed into an eleven-day period, with only two days of break. Despite multiple requests from the program leader, the administration remains indifferent and refuses to adjust the schedule. This ridiculous timetable will inevitably lower our CGPAs, causing some students to lose their scholarships. Yet, the exam department seems utterly indifferent and unhelpful. Unlike other universities in Dubai, which provide exam dates early in the semester, Amity University sees fit to release them just two weeks prior. Lovely.
Communicating with the exam department is an exercise in futility; emailing them feels like sending a message to God. While I'm pleased with the professors and the course material, the administration, exam department, and security services are a complete disaster. The attendance system is another mess. Some students don't get credit for attending classes simply because they registered late, and Amizone (their student portal) conveniently doesn't allow retroactive attendance entry. Diabolical.
The security staff's priorities are laughable. They are hyper-vigilant about trivial issues like eating in class but turn a blind eye to serious incidents, such as when a student was stabbed on campus. The irony is astounding.
Ms. S* conduct was particularly disappointing. She accused me of cheating without any basis, searched my seat and pockets, and bizarrely criticized my writing posture during an exam. This behavior was especially disheartening given her initial kindness during my registration, making it feel like she had a complete personality shift once I was officially enrolled.
In summary, while the teaching staff and academic content are commendable, the administrative and security practices at Amity University in Dubai are appalling and urgently need...
Read moreSorry to say that I have had a horrible experience at Amity University I feel HARRASSED. My story goes like this, my son result AS level was released in late August 2024, sadly he did not pass so he cannot continue year 13 in the same School as a parent so inquired about many Universities, but unfortunately, in our list, we first went to Amity we met Mr. Snizam Khaja he said he is the assistant director so we trust him, what he did he ask quickly deposit for blocking seat of AED 3255, I thought it was refundable, you know we are in the stage of worrying where to put my son to study so I agree to block the seat but then, we change our mind to put him to other University because anyway Amity is not the final yet, then we decide not to study in Amity because there is better opportunity in the other University that was our final decision. Then I asked the assistant director (Nizam)that we will withdraw our money for blocking seat! unluckily he said not refundable, Oh my God it was so bad I ask him why, and first of all you did not tell us that the money will pay for blocking seat is not refundable. So Shock, some other school they are refunding like Apple International School they are more professional than this Amity University. What I'm thinking till now my money AED 3255 is like I'm putting it into charity but Amity is not a charity right? to convince myself so that i will not feel bad! because i am still paying it to the bank in my credit card what to do? Perhaps some people will say this is very small amount but for me this is almost the cost of my 1 month salary! GOD BLESS AMITY UNIVERSITY. BE AWARE TO THOSE WHO DONT KNOW YET. About how they are nurturing the mind of their students really I don't know because my child did not study there and will never study there. Very bad experience at Amity University So much regret why I came to that university and met the assistant director he forced me to pay for the seat reservation without an explanation if I couldn't refund it or not. SO GREEDY OF MONEY!. REGRET SO MUCH WHY I ENTERED AMITY VICINITY. NIZAM SAID THE UNIVERSITY POLICY WOULD NOT RETURN MY 3,255 DIRHAMS. IN JUST 2 DAYS THE SEAT WAS RESERVED BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY WE DECIDED WHICH UNIVERSITY MY SON...
Read moreI'm currently a student in this university, so I think I have a very strong idea about the university works. So I'll give the pros and cons of this institution. Pros:- Incredible campus, with fairly good quality equipment. Experienced professors (I'm a media student, so I'm not sure about other departments) A very good hostel, although it is on the pricier side. Very flexible when it comes to attendece and project submissions. Easy admission process. A decent amount of cultural diversity. Cons:- High price for admission Customer support is on the lower end(although it is getting better. Lack of communication with the students.
I'm still a student here, so I'm not really sure how valuable the certificate from the uni is. But it does allow a platform for the students to do many on hand experience from the field. Although some teachers can be difficult to work with, most of then are logical and empathetic. There's a lot of value to this Uni, but you have to work harder than usual to find it. Amity university allowed me to follow my passion. Although not directly, they did help me do things I never imagined I'd do. In the past year alone I experienced and accomplished things that made my life genuinely happy. It may have it's flaws. But I still love this University. I would reccomend Amity to anyone interested in...
