I have so much to share about this place—let’s start with the road. The drive is absolutely breathtaking, especially as you enter the mountains. I highly recommend bringing a tripod or an Osmo to record the journey in time-lapse mode because the views are something you’ll want to revisit. Honestly, my phone couldn’t do justice to the scenery. I took a few videos and photos, but nothing compared to what I saw with my own eyes. It’s the perfect road trip and such an exciting activity to do in Dubai. Plus, the distance to Hatta isn’t too far—especially if you’re enjoying the company of someone special.
My husband had been there before, but it was my first time, and I absolutely loved it. If you plan to visit, I recommend getting there in the morning—around 10 a.m. worked perfectly for us. By noon, the sun can get quite strong, so it’s better to leave by then. We arrived a little after 10, and it was ideal because we had plenty of time to explore and enjoy.
When it comes to the kayaks, there are different pricing options: per hour or unlimited time. I strongly suggest choosing the unlimited option. While you might think you’ll only stay for an hour, the lake is much bigger than you’d expect, and you’ll want to take your time paddling, relaxing, and enjoying meaningful conversations with your companion.
This trip was a birthday gift from my husband, and it was truly amazing. A tip I’d share is to bring some hearty sandwiches—having those while kayaking made the experience even better. We ate right on the kayak, which allowed us to stay longer and enjoy some high-quality time together.
For kayaks, I recommend opting for the pedal ones instead of the manual ones you control with paddles—it’s much easier and more comfortable, especially if you’re staying for a couple of hours. If you’re planning an extended visit, definitely get one with an umbrella for shade. Once you’re done kayaking, you can sit back and soak in the gorgeous views—it’s incredibly relaxing.
There are also facilities nearby, so you don’t need to worry about packing everything. You’ll find snack stands, coffee, ice cream, and even bathrooms. Everything is very accessible, and you can pay by card or cash.
A quick parking tip: if you want to park at the very top near the entrance (which is much better because climbing the mountain from the bottom can be exhausting), make sure to arrive early to secure a good spot.
This trip is such a fantastic way to spend a weekend. It opens at 10 a.m., so be punctual to make the most of it. All in all, I highly recommend this experience—it’s beautiful, memorable, and...

Read moreI visited this place on National Day, and while the location is stunning and the kayaking experience was fantastic, the overall management left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, I was disappointed by the lack of preparation for the large crowds. After purchasing my ticket, I had to wait over three hours to start kayaking. The parking system consists of three zones, with buses transporting visitors to the top where the activities take place. Unfortunately, the queues for these buses were quite long, taking at least 15 minutes to board.
Another major inconvenience was the lack of toilet facilities at the main activity area. Visitors are forced to walk all the way back down to the parking zones to use the restroom, which is not practical or comfortable, especially on a busy day.
That said, the kayaking itself was a highlight , beautiful and very enjoyable. However, the overall experience leading up to it felt poorly managed and unnecessarily difficult. With better planning, improved crowd management, and accessible facilities, this place could truly shine as a...
