Local market There is no proper building Initially it was a stall type now expanded over a large area Shops have their numbers tagged by the muncipality of fujairah Shopkeepers are pakistani,afghani,bengali and indians,omanis.locals can also be seen on fridays or some times in their pickups.you can get all sorts of fruits both local and imported ,vegetables,dry fruit,dates,boiled corn all the way through out the market well decorated in baskets.There are plenty of nursery for wonderful flora.walking through the market reaching the end you can find shops of carpet ,rugs,blankets,bed sheet imported from pakistan ,Turkey,iran .These shops are owned by afghanis. In between the market you can find the local arabs selling raddish,onion,mint,sweet potato,water melon,tomatoes,dates,natural honey,dibs(sweet syrup from dates),gasha(dried fish),karoob(trunk of date gree),omani halwa(brown sweet) But rule of thumb always bargain for prices espicially if you are tourist. Beautiful drive through hills. The Mulberries you find here are really fresh. Other fruits including mangoes, mandarins, grapes, peaches, etc can be given a try. The carpet market is very good to get one as you can bargain up to 40 percent of the price quoted by the shopkeeper. You can get different types of plants including the small trees, fruit & Vegetable plants, flowers. You can get all the tools for gardening. Good place to buy the souvenir for your trip back to your home country.
