✨A Memorable Escape at Najd Al Meqsar Heritage Hotel – A True Gem in Khor Fakkan✨ Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) My recent one-night stay at Najd Al Meqsar Heritage Hotel, by Sharjah Collection, was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled in the heart of the Khor Fakkan mountains, this adults-only heritage retreat offers a unique blend of Emirati history, breathtaking scenery, and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, I was captivated by the serene ambiance, impeccable service, and the authentic charm of this beautifully restored mountain village. If you’re seeking a peaceful getaway that feels like a step back in time without sacrificing luxury, this is the place to be. ✨Booking and Planning: Advance Booking is a Must✨ I highly recommend booking in advance, as this boutique hotel only has seven Kareen Houses, making availability limited. We secured our Kareen Double Room through Booking.com well ahead of our trip, which was a smart move given the hotel’s exclusivity and high demand. The process was seamless, but don’t expect to snag a last-minute room here—its small size and popularity mean spots fill up quickly. Plan ahead to ensure you don’t miss out on this unique experience. ✨Arrival and First Impressions✨ Driving up to Najd Al Meqsar, located in the Wadi weShie archaeological site, felt like entering another world. The hotel is perched high in the Khor Fakkan mountains, offering panoramic views of rolling hills, dense forests, and distant horizons. The 300-year-old fort and meticulously restored stone houses immediately set the tone for a stay steeped in heritage. Parking was a breeze—free private parking is available on-site, which was a huge plus. The lot was convenient, secure, and even included electric vehicle charging and bicycle parking options, making it hassle-free to settle in after our drive from the city. ✨The Room: Rustic Charm Meets Modern Comfort✨ Our Kareen Double Room was a perfect blend of traditional Emirati craftsmanship and modern amenities. The hand-hewn wooden beams, stone walls, and thatched roof gave the room a rustic, authentic vibe, while thoughtful touches like a king-size bed, air conditioning, and complimentary Wi-Fi ensured comfort. The room was spotlessly clean, and the private balcony offered jaw-dropping views of the Hajar Mountains, especially at sunset when the sky turned fiery hues. Modern conveniences like a smart TV, minibar, espresso machine, and luxurious bathrobes made the stay feel indulgent. The only minor critique I’d offer is that the lighting could benefit from a dimmer switch, as it was either very bright or quite dark, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience. ✨Dining at Wishi Restaurant✨ The on-site Wishi Restaurant was a highlight of our stay. Open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM, it serves a variety of international and Emirati dishes with options for halal, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. We opted for a continental breakfast, which was freshly prepared and served with a stunning mountain view from the terrace. ✨Service: Exceptional and Heartfelt The staff at Najd Al Meqsar truly made our stay unforgettable. From the warm welcome at the 24-hour front desk to the attentive service throughout, every team member went above and beyond. A special shoutout to Hassan for serving us incredible breakfast and Lotfy, who greeted us with genuine hospitality and shared fascinating stories about the hotel’s history and the Wadi Shie archaeological site. His passion for the property’s heritage made us feel like we were part of something special. The entire staff’s kindness and professionalism created a home-away-from-home atmosphere that I’ll remember for years. Final thought that I was in love with overall experience 💖 I am already looking forward for my next trip there. Love you Najd Al...
Read moreWe stayed at Najd Al Meqsar for one night and had an excellent experience. The property is truly unique and full of character, offering a peaceful escape with stunning views of the Wadi and Hajar mountains. It’s one of the most memorable staycations we've had in the UAE.
The standout of our stay was the hospitality of Mr. Austin, the property manager. He was extremely kind and helpful—from arranging a surprise birthday cake for my husband to checking in with us during our stay to make sure everything was smooth. His attention to detail really enhanced our experience.
The on-site restaurant, Wishi, had stunning views of the valley and ofcourse served delicious food, and the breakfast was impressive.
Things to Know Before You Go: No lifts – Rooms are accessible by stairs. A ramp is available up to Level 1, but higher rooms require climbing (luggage assistance provided)
No room service – Meals are served only at the restaurant on Level 0, so plan your movements around meal times.
Parking is available, but not shaded, so your car may heat up during the day.
Rooms have antique-style fans – a charming but unusual feature for UAE hotels. Air conditioning is available and works well.
Breakfast is not a buffet – It’s made fresh to order, which we appreciated for its quality, attention to detail and fresh ingredients.
The property is built into a heritage site, so expect an authentic, rustic feel with luxury standards.
Not stroller or wheelchair friendly beyond Level 1 due to stairs and layout—best suited for able-bodied visitors.
Overall, We'd highly recommend it for a short, meaningful escape...

The historical village of Najd Al Maqsar in the city of Khorfakkan receives great attention and care from the Sharjah government, as it is subject to an integrated development project in line with its growing heritage and tourism value.
The village of Najd Al Maqsar is one of the oldest in "Al Sharqiya" mountains, and the most prominent evidence of the ancient history of the city of Khorfakkan, as it is full of many symbolic inscriptions dating back to about 2000 BC.
The village, which includes a historical fort, 13 houses that extend back more than 100 years, is characterised by its strategic location above the peaks of the Wadi Shi mountains, at an altitude of about 220 metres, where the visitor can see most parts of Khorfakkan from its summit.
Due to its historical value, which is confirmed by rocks engraved with symbols and images of animals dating back to about 2000 BC - according to studies - and its unique design, the village receives great attention from the Sharjah government, as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed its restoration in 2020.
The village is undergoing a development project to revive it and add some service and tourism facilities. Shurooq is also working on implementing an integrated heritage hotel project in...
